Not surprisingly - given Kevin Spacey's starring role - Inherit the Wind was a superbly acted play. The entire cast was excellent. Despite the sober story line, there was ample humor throughout. An engaging story and an excellent evening.

An excellent performance by all. We're big fans of Kevin Spacey's acting and, per usual, he didn't disappoint. Thank you for a great evening.

Magnetic performance from the two leads. Kevin Spacey was passionate about the character, witty, fantastic.
Great to see a standing ovation for evolution from a whole theatre audience - there is hope for reason.

Saw the performance on 16th December and was very impressed. The scenes move along at just the right pace and I thought the stage scenery was great.
I was really looking forward to seeing Kevin Spacey's performance and I must admit he didn't disappoint, neither did David Troughton. The interaction between Spacey and Troughton was first class.
I can thoroughly recommend this to all.

Kevin Spacey never disappoints and David Troughton complimented him brilliantly.
We wondered whether we had time to fit this in before Christmas, but are really pleased that we made the effort, especially as we had quite a bit of trouble with our trains!

Powerful acting and atmospheric staging lifted a play which failed to create the tension of a court house drama. While the mood of an ultra-conservative mid west town in the 1920s was well created, many of the characters were charicatures and too much humour and cynicism detracted from what was supposed to be a tense court room in the second act. Spacey's powerful voice and mannerisms seemed at odds with his stooped elderly figure but he delivered some powerful messages very effectively and Troughton was convincing as the bible thumping, failed presidential candidate.
An interesting evening which encouraged the audience to think for themselves and to continue to value free speech - both important lasting legacies from the Darwinian debates

A great cast in this interesting play. It is hard to believe in this day and age that teaching Darwin was prohibited but this play, based on a true story, conveyed the argument of religion vs evolution with great conviction. The 2 main characters were played extremely well and both received a majority standing ovation at the end (Kevin Spacey, who was almost unrecognisable, and David Troughton).
The Old Vic is a beautiful venue, if you can cope with the hard straight-backed chairs, and was a fitting setting for this performance. I will definitely be returning.

This is a good piece of theatre if you like to see well-acted, and light, pieces.
Considering the subject matter, I thought it might have been a bit darker - but then maybe the underlying menace just went over my head!
All of the cast put in a very high-quality performance and overall it is worth a visit if you can get tickets!

This was an unforgettable experience. I enjoyed every minute of it. Thought-provoking, deep, truthful. Wonderful performance of David Troughton and Kevin Spacey and the whole team.
It is indeed a Play for Today, the issue is as contemporary as it has ever been and it has been interpreted in a very intelligent way. Everyone should see this show.

The Spencer Tracy starring movie of Inherit the Wind is my favourite film, and I never thought anyone could equal Spencer Tracy's acting abilities but Kevin Spacey matches him. From the moment he makes his entrance to the final moment of the play he is magnetic, funny, profound and touching, and makes the Henry Drummond character as real and noble as the real life Clarence Darrow (who Kevin Spacey played some years back). He is supported by a magnificent cast including David Troughton who makes Spacey's opponent Matthew Harrison Brady a sympathetic and admirable character. A Five Star Night Out

This play was captivating and as a result was finished too quickly - the stage set was great, singing fantatsic, acting of course superb. Kevin Spacey was a cut above the majority in other plays.

After a trying and unfortunate start to my visit to London, my partner and I were looing forward to this play. It did not disappoint. Kevin Spacey was brilliant, as was the entire cast. The staging was beautiful - with the deep stage, moving features to create different spaces and scenes from Main Street to a jail to the court room - and the show was particularly well lit. I would recommend this show to anyone traveling in or to London. The theatre is not in the same area as the others, but that was part of its charm. We also had a lovely dinner at Paradiso down the road.
