This show was absolutely amazing. The person that I had taken along with me was going to the theatre for the first time and found it to be an utterly unforgettable experience. It's just a shame there were so few shows...

Being a Kung Fu enthusiast I knew already what to expect from the show, but from the comments of the friend I brought along with me- who doesn`t have a clue about martial arts- I can guarantee that this is a hell of an entertaining show.
The members of the crew presented themselves all lined up on stage. The first man on one side started to roll on the floor like he was a tree trunk, making the other men jump one by one, forming a human wave. The public gasped in stupor for this scenic welcome.
The story is narrated by the Master- who happens to be Chun Yi- to the young apprentice. At the beginning we are moved by this little kid who doesn`t want to leave his mother. Then the perfomances of the highly trained artists don`t let us any time to think and bring this story of the journey of life to another level. The music of the ancient chinese instruments create the Zen atmosphere that reflects perfectly the character of the wise Master, the warrior of peace. The fast paced percussions keep the crowd on the edge of their seats when there are the gravity defying acrobacies on stage. Moments of calm are alternated to moments of thrill. The colourful costumes and lights are the right catalyst for the atmosphere of this touchy story, suspended between legend and reality.

This show was probably one of the most spectacular, well choreographed, stunning shows I have ever seen. The music was brilliant, the stunts the guys did were just mind blowing. Several times I was saying 'oh my god!!' as I couldnt beleive what they were doing. Apart from that, there is a lovely heartwarming story throughout with some touching mucis and dances.

Loved this play. My 7 and 10 year olds were spellbound. My younger son asked if he can come the next night to watch it. It also had a great lesson for the kids and the dancing and music were wonderful. I would only add one suggestion. I wish they add more detail to the story to accompany the wonderful song and dance.
Highly recommended.

We went with two grandchildren, boy aged 9 and girl aged 7. They were entranced. When the curtain came down for the interval, they didn't want it to stop. A very exciting and beautifully choreographed production.

It was colourful, exciting and the music was excellent. The presentation of the skills of the men on the stage was presented in the context of a story to a small child, so all the movements and performances made sense. The 3 Ballerinas were stunning to watch and the ariel ballet was beautiful.

This show was fantastic. It was fast paced from start to finish. The music was mesmeric, every single person on stage was outstanding. There was action, fast and durious and there was also beautiful ballet as two people danced in love. My 9 year old son was with me and he loved it too. It isn't just about dance, there's also martial arts in it.
You must see this show before it leaves London.

This is a fun show for all the family. Doesn't go for too long and there's even a simple story line so your attention doesn't wane. The performers were well honed kung fu machines! Mixed kung fu, swordsmanships, dance, song, displays of strength (or stupidity!) together beautifully. There were times where the music and noise created by the performers got you sitting on the edge of your seat! Beautiful theatre as well. Very enjoyable - go and see it!!
Favourite moment: The scene stealers were the 3 young boys who entered the stage doing forward flips. Not just any old forward flip mind you - instead of going from a handstand to bridge and pulling themselves up they used their heads (look mum - no hands!!) and landed in a bridge and sprung back up! The audience were in awe!

I had read mixed reviews from various newspapers, some describing the show as a limp musical with Kung Fu and not for the avid martial art fans as they use bendy swords, and some describing the show as a Kung Fu master piece, so I was intrigued to see for myself.
The show began with an array of stunts to capitivate the audience from the start. The kung fu action throughout was consistant with the plot, and similar to other threatre productions there were a few mellow moments which was expected to allow the storyline to flow.
Overall a joy to watch, and as for the "bendy sword" comment , the guy obviously doesn't know much about Chinese Kung Fu as it's a well recognised weapon in martial art. Worth a trip to go and see.

The production of Chun Yi : Legend of Kung Fu was a truly spectacular production. It had everything - acrobatics, dance, martial arts, and was visually stunning. The cast of men and women, not all monks surely, with a number of children as well, displayed a phenomenal physical dexterity, which was at times quite breath-taking. Some of the martial arts stunts were simply extraordinary. The narrative held the show together, and turned it into a form of oriental ballet, visually stunning and beautifully choreographed.
The production was simply suberb, and most enjoyable!

Following the Chun Yi play I had mixed views. The story line or lack there off needed more work however this was over shadowed by the Kung Fu atistry and acrobatics. The skills of the kung Fu practitioners were second to none, i would recommend the show on this basis, but if your looking for an equally good story you will not find it here.
