As the title suggests, I went to the gig with the main intention of going to see Amon Amarth but;
Unfortunately due the rather extensive queue outside, I missed Machinae Supremacy playing (The queue was/is my only gripe about the show) which was a bit of a shame.
I came in, in time see Ensiferum playing, I've been a light listener for a little while now, whilst they aren't one of my favorite bands, their energy on stage was fantastic, and they really got the crowd going. A really top notch performance from them.
Next up was Amon Amarth. Bloody brilliant. A fantastic show, with decent selection of songs, including 3 from the new album, 'Guardians of Asgaard' and 'Runes to my Memory' were a particular highlights though.
Children of Bodom finished the show (obviously) and did a blinding performance, again like Ensiferum, I'm a light listener of their music, or was, more to the point. Since watching their performance, with some immaculate guitar solo's and fantastic Keyboarding, I've not stopped listening to them this week.
I was in the upstairs seating for the gig (can't keep up with the youngsters thrashing about downstairs anymore) and i tell you what, sometimes there's nothing better than sitting back, with a beer in hand and watching some top class act play some damn decent music. I'd recommend it.
