The " Nessun Dorma was delivered in a muddy brown plastic bag", is not far from the truth.
You can't knock Paul for a man with ambition and living his dream, but considering the tickets retail at the same value as any other opera singer, it does not stand up to the standard you would expect.
It was a bit of a hit and miss, interspersed with a young talented new zealand singer, which unfortunately was also out of her depth but done her best to entertain.
The whole show spelt desperation in his performance but gratitude towards his fan base, which when done repetitively emphasises his desperation.
To give Paul credit, he did have a few flawless performances but it was outweighed by his out of tune "foreign" track fillers.
If the tickets were under £ 20.00 it would have been reasonable value, and probably filled more of the empty venue's seats, but at market price , i would recommend rather watching Andrea Bocelli or any other tenor.
Disspointing moment, when the entire audience was anxious for him to sing Nessun Dorma , the song which propelled his stardom. He left the song out of his main act, and required the audience to beg for it as an encore. Alas, he never hit the high notes and was unconvincing and lacked depth.
