After splitting up from seeing someone, I figured I should probably organise something decent for the summer because I could. Too poor to go to Malia with the rest of the lads, first thing that came to mind was GlobalGathering, I'd heard about it, watched the videos on YouTube and was straight on it, text to the best mate, booked that weekend.
You honestly couldn't pick a better festival to go to in the summer, it was topped off by the fact that Creamfields was absolutely drowned a few weeks after too!

The line up's are always solid, breakthrough or genuine acts. I personally went for Friendly Fires, Above & Beyond, Chase & Status, Knife Party and Rudimental, all of which smashed it!

The food was good, reasonably priced with loads to choose from, the drink was expensive (£50 for a crate of Tuborg) but then it's a festival so what do you expect?
Chase & Status and Above & Beyond absolutely smashed it on the saturday evening.
Only problem I had was the fact you couldn't bring drinks from the campsite with you into the arena, but you could buy exactly the same drink within the arena area, it doesn't make sense but rules are rules!

Whether you're too skint to go to Ibiza this year, didn't manage to get a Glasto ticket or just touring all of the festivals for one amazing time with the mates, make sure Global 13's at the top of your list, it's gonna smash it!

See you in a few months Global, I'm going VIP this year!

It was amazing, the people, the music, even the weather held out! Would definitely recommend to anyone that's gunning for a brilliant festival to go to, and I'm already set on going next year! Only letdown was the price of the alcohol (£40odd for a crate of 24 Tuborg beers!) but that aside, phenomenal.

WOW, OMG what a festival. The line up was amazing, there was so much variation from one tent to the other. I was in the Visionquest/Global, ASOT and Toolroom tents all weekend but there was dubstep, drum & bass everything! The sound systems, lights and pyrotechnics were brilliant, the atmosphere was amazing, and the weather couldn't have been any better, it was like being abroad for the weekend.

The only problems I had with the whole weekend was that Maceo Plex's set time was changed and we wern't told about it. I dont know if it was announced at 12 and we just missed it or what but it could have been publicised a little better, and the drink prices were excessive and should be looked at, but apart from that AMAZING!!

I will definitely be buying another ticket for next year!!

This was a random booking but it was such a good weekend roll on next year be !!

The only thing i was abit annoyed about was 5 hours to get out the car [park feeling like death !! they need to sooooort it out for next year !!
Oh and you cant take drink in there but overal weekend was a blast dont be put off by my moaning !!!!!

We had an excellent weekend at Global Gathering. We had booked the Hotel Bell Tent accomodation and the girls were full on enthusiasm and helped us to our tents with our luggage. I must say the entrance to the festival was initially dissapointing due to the no alcohol rule just for the camp site. I find this utterly obsurd and left a bad taste in our mouth from the outset. We suspect this is so the organisers could fleece the general public with over inflated drink prices inside the grounds, not a good start. The number of police stood around and walking people off to the swab testing machine was also way over top, i thought festivals were places to enjoy and unwind, not to be marched off like a convicted criminal. I am 38 years old and my wife is 43 and have been to many festivals but i found this one to be far too negative, i understand there has to be a police presence but this was too much. we had a great time but will not be returning due to the above observations, sorry. We were with two other friends and we all felt the same. You stop the drugs getting in fine, but to stop some beers into the campsite and over charge, no I am not happy.

Amazing weekend, incredible atmosphere and the most exciting and banging party ever! Plan to go next year and every year after for sure! Would have been good if music was slightly louder in the tents and more water points needed. Such a good weekend, can't wait for GG13!

Global was excellent, only downfall was the vip woods and the lack of enough toilets and showers but apart from that the atmosphere was amazing and ppl were friendly and helpful.
I will keep going every year coz its worth every penny.

One of the best weekends of my life. The festival was laid out perfectly, the weather was beautiful and the line-up was one of the best line-up's I have ever seen/witnessed. There was such a laid back and friendly atmosphere. I will be making a return next year for sure.

Global Gathering never fails to amaze! Chase & Status were amazing, as always! The Friday night was great. Always seems to be a better vibe on the Friday as everyone is there for a good time. Saturday was also amazing but the Saturday day ticket holders usually bomb in and pollute the place!

The event it's self was awesome. I stated VIP and totally loved it.

Downside was leaving it took nearly 3 hours to get out. Much better organisation is required for different exits from the venue.

Global gathering was so good, loved every moment of being there. Every artist preformed amazing and the sound, lights, tents and main stage was great. The toilet situation was pretty good considering the amount of people. There was a lot of food and drink stalls and many rides, it was very expensive but all festivals are like that. I would recommend this festival to friends and I think anyone who enjoys dance music this would be the festival for you :) xx

Right, I'm not usually a negative person, but.... WHAT HAPPENED GLOBAL GATHERING??

Tiny Tempah (2 years running!!), Labrinth, The Japenese Popstars, the list goes on... a few years ago it was Kanye West headlining!!!!! What the ****?!! Now I know they're popular with the kids, and maybe that's what it is, but...

*GLOBAL GATHERING BUILT IT'S REPUTATION ON HEADLINING THE BEST DJS IN THE WORLD*

Underworld? Fatboy Slim? Daft Punk? The Prodigy? Orbital? Tiesto? Eric Prydz? Faithless? PVD? Alex Kidd? Proteus? Ok I'll stop now, you get the point.

But while I'm at it, why is there no Polysexual tent anymore?! GG even had a Radio 1 stage once upon a time, as well as being broadcast live. Those were the days.

So this year, not much interest in the headliners I'm afraid, I hear Skrillex was good, Ferry Corsten was the highlight for me.

In previous years, the toilets have been regularly cleaned, not this year, they were DISGUSTING! There has also been showers previously, again, not this year.

GG was good, because I was with a good set of friends, in fact I had a great time and we met some cool people, as you tend to do at these things, but the festival itself was VERY average.

Headliners - Average.
Entrance to the festival site - Terrible (3 hours for a journey that usually takes us 1).
Entrance to the campsite - Great (About 20 minutes to get in which has taken us 3 hours in the past).
Facilities - Average.
Prices - Shocking (£50 for a crate in the campsite, or £4 a can in the main arena, I accept the latter but certainly not the former).

It saddens me to say it, but GG has really let itself down this year. Sad times for what was once the highlight of the festival year.

Was an awesome weekend, not a drop of rain. I've been to a few festivals but never global gathering before. It was nice to be parked close to the campsite and not too far from the arena. Only issues we had were the toilets. Ques were often an hour long and dirty. Would of been nicer to have a few other 'luxury loos' as even the que for those were long. And the food stalls. If we were not allowed to take camping stoves then the food vans should make their prices more reasonable or have more of a selection. We paid £12 for a sausage and bacon roll and a cup of orange juice. Music and atmosphere were brilliant and the staff were really helpful. Roll on global 2013 ;)

A fantastic festival for any fan of Dance, Drum &Bass, Trance, Dubstep, etc. Great set up, would recommend VIP camping to anyone, good facilities, which were kept clean (better than previous festival experiences). An all round brilliant weekend!
