orbital salvaged an otherwise disappointing fest

Favourite moment: orbital on the main stage - wodnerufl as ever. and one of the fairground rides was the other highlight of the festival - that speaks volumes.... @

We've been to a number of the clapham common free fesitvals in the past and loads of other festivals over the last 15 or so years and were looking forward to this as the highlight of the bank holiday wknd - what a great line-up! . But really disappointed when we got there. Too many good acts on too early and for to little time (dubstep for half an hour at 3.30 in the afternoon - are you sure??? what a waste..) Too many of the big name artists all clashing with each other. Too many big names in tents that weren't big enough to cater for the audience (Royksopp- yeah they sounded great from half way to the back fence which is the closest we managed to get). The whole thing felt cramped. The scrum to use the ladies toilets was at times unbreaable (and i've been to Glastonbury enough times ot know how bad festival toilets can be).The sound system on the main stage was variable - Roni Size and Reprazent are awesome live but the sound mixing for their set was dire. Not enough bars for the nunber of peopel, food stalls average to poor. Just not enough SPACE for a festilval with that line up and apparent ambition - come on guys, Clapham Common is a big place, surely you can get a bigger site than that postage stamp...
frankly if it wasn't for wanting to see Orbital plus feeling guilty at having raved on so much abuot this fesitval that we got loads of our mates to come along instead of going to Carnival (for free..) we would have left after about an hour or two. we were glad when it was over and escaped to a pub. We won't be going again.

Good event - got there a little late. Royksopp played in a tent that had the worst sound I've ever heard! Orbital as headliners were absolutely amazing! I would go again but be waiting in line when it starts!

Thought the event was way below SW4 last year, and by all accounts, SW4 this year. The line-up was quite disappointing and Felix da Housecat pulled out on the day, without any notice from the promoters.

From begining I was very excited about festival`s line up. BUT...

at the place when we check line up again, we were dissapointed with all the big names playing at same time.
For us, it was impossible to be there-everywere. We went to see Booka shade, than Royksoop but wanted to see ORbital on Main stage. But NO NO NO.....

and drinks and alcohol-- very very expensive and not a big range of alcohol .....;-(

apart from that-very very very happy with Royksoop and Booka Shade(I got a drum stick from them!!!!)

The setting of the very civilized Clapham Common was ideal for the mayhem that ensued!! This was the one festival I really wanted to go to for the music, and I was not disappointed!! Roni Size's only appearance this year and despite the miserable weather, there were a lot of very happy faces!! Pendulum was another personal highlight, could've done with a longer set, Orbital not really my thing!! The presence of the Pimms bus was the icing on the cake!! A great day was had by all!! Roll on next year...

Good points: Great lineup, great music, loads and loads of food places meant not much waiting for food, easy to get around.
Bad points: toilets were always BUSY and totally unattended so lots of mess, no toilet paper etc and lots of pushing in. Music wasnt really loud enough, it finished at 9 (early) and the programmes were £5 - they are free on the website of most other festivals - bit of a rip!! Also, would have been nice to know that bags would have been searched and I would have to wait 10 times as long as those without a bag as would not have brought one!

What a great line up but must admit that 2 years in a row the
soundsystems have not been that good, not sure if they have a
limit on the bass output, i think they must have as i see
Laurent Garnier which was amazing but there was only little bass
no way near the money you pay for this event.
And to top it off it finishes at 9pm so its not like you would
be keeping the residents up all night !!!!

Orbital were bone shatteringly good and were worth the ticket price. Also Laurent Garnier rocked it out. I did think however the Sound systems and the lack of volume in the tents let the the whole festival down. A shame because the party people there deserved more.

Get Loaded In The Park - a one-day dance festival, with some great acts on the headline, il spare you the list, read it yourself, however, starting with the downside:-
You had to pay £5 for a programme guide - totally not necessary, but another money spinner.
Felix da Housecat was on at 2pm - missed his set - and not happy about that!
Great points - Bloody beetroots - amazing set, and well sticking around the Dim Mak tent for. So were the crookers. Even missed Royksopp for these, and no regrets.
But the highlight, without a shadow of a doubt, was Steve Aoki in Fabric - played stage 2, and his beats were filthy!!! If you haven't heard of Aoki, hunt him down...he followed the bloody beetroots at Fabric, and their set was even better in fabric, but Steve was out of this world. Then around 4am, Simian Mobile Disco - well, need i say anymore! If you've never been, get yourself to this festival, my only biggest regret - not making the whole SW4 weekend - will definately do next time.!

Although the festival in itself wasnt amazing, with good friends and a great attitude you can have a great time. As long as you enjoy electronic, dance, drum and bass and house music, Get Loaded in the Park is the perfect festival for you.

If you want to go to a festival, without camping around, this is a good choice.

Overall a good time, and worth my money =)

Get Loaded in the Park & the after party at Facric were both absolutely brilliant. We got there in time to see the start of Roni Size but left to go to see Booka Shade, who were as ever a class act. Our party also spent a lot of time round Gio Goi bus where there was a constant lively party. The event was well laid out and well organised. We did not have to queue too long to get in and the bars were big enough to cope with the demand.
The after party at Fabric had some of the best music I have ever heard in my life. Simian Mobile Disco, Husley & Gunz, Peter Pixel and Cormac went off! I wish I could take those sets with me everywhere. The energy from that music was amazing. The best techno ever!

Not loud enough, could feel no bass, even when at the front, the only act to reach a decent level were Orbital. Overall the washed out sound ruined the day :(
