DJ Yoda was incredible at Newcastle Academy, a real audio/visual feast that will please everyone who likes tasty beats and dances like there's no tomorrow! His fusion of Hip-Hop, Dubstep, Jungle/Dancehall and dance mash-ups are masterful, but the main thing that stands Yoda out from anyone else is his video scratching and mixing; it takes turntablism to a whole new level. I guarantee that you will be amazed- half the crowd had their jaws dropped for most of the set!

I reccommend DJ Yoda to you unreservedly- go and have a good time!

Yoda's AV set was incredible and got us all dancing and then when he came back for his DJ set he carried on the good times, great night! Totally worth it!

I really didnt know what to expect, my boyfriend really likes Yoda and I have to say i am a convert. It was amazing. I was completely transfixed.. havent a clue how he does it but you have to see it to believe it.. mixing music and videos wicked stuff. Unfortunately slightly ruined by getting wheel clamped :(

After a very dodgy folk comedy band that the whole crowd wanted to kill and a blue as hell comedian who seemed to be at war with the crowd, DJ Yoda came on much to everyones delight. While the DVD scratching was brilliantly put together and it was obvious it took a lot of planning, he unfortunately had no communication with the crowd at all.

He barely acknowledged we were there, which was a real shame. It would have been great if he had explained what he was doing but this was certainly not done and he seemed scared to even look at the Bristol people...maybe because they wanted to kill the previous acts. Still, we were all on his side whether he knew it or not.

Apart from this, my other gripe was that not much of it could be danced to, with brilliant VDJ mixes being put together and then changing to something else 20 secs later you had no chance of getting your freak on.

Don't get me wrong, it was still a good night and what he was doing was really great and groundbreaking, but maybe if he engaged the crowd a bit more and played tunes for longer we wouldn't have ended up leaving early.

Overall not bad for a tenner, but left a bit dissapointed.

Saw DJ YODA on Weds nite at Cockpit in Leeds - best dj I've ever seen! Skillfully mixing, cutting and scratching his way through every genre of music AND video clips ranging from Resevoir Dogs and Hustle & Flo to Deliverance, the IT Crowd and Britains Got Talent. Genius!
