Upon hearing Anette had left the band I was a bit concerned as to how Nightwish were going to continue with their tour, although the choice of asking former After Forever vocalist Floor Jensen to step into the spotlight put me at ease.

Opening act Pain were really good to witness, I hadn't actually heard anything by them before the evening started but by the end of the set they had easily won me over as a fan along with the added bonus of catching one of the many poster flags that the band threw into the crowd!

The stage layout for Nightwish was nicely done. Scenes from the Imageinarum album artwork were on display via the backdrop along with Tuomas having his keyboard set in what looked like a vintage pipe organ!

The band themselves were as tight as ever and once Floor began singing I was instantly impressed. Floor manages to be able to blend both the styles of the former Nightwish vocalist and utilise them to her own needs. Countless Nightwish classic after classic were performed along with most of the songs from their latest offering "Imaginaerum" and both came across as excellent.

I look forward to the direction in which Nightwish persue their musical talents now that Floor has become an active member of the band.

The concert its self was fantastic, both bands were brilliant and ingauging.
However the change over between Pain and Nightwish took almost half an hour, which seemed ridiculously long and most of the people around me were getting restless by the end of this period.
Also for a concert hall that warns that you should come to events by public transport as there is little near by parking I was incredibly annoyed to have to leave the concert EARLY to catch the last train with a Bromley South connection heading into Kent.
If I had had any clue about when the concert was scheduled or even likely to finish I would have been able to make better or alternative arrangements.
So in conclusion, whilst I will most definitely see Nightwish play live again I will not be going to the O2 Academy again unless more information is given in advance. ( And probably not even then.)

It was the best!!!! I saw Nightwish at Download this year, they were Amazung then, and I thought that they wouldn't top that but I was wrong. I will defo see them again!!!!!

Great night out ! Firstly the support group, Pain were superb and a good warm up to Nightwish.
Floor Jansen is more than up to the job of new vocalist for the groups tour and overall the group manage to recreate the orchestral / operatic presence we've come to expect.
Nightwish rocked !

I think the whole night was absolutely amazing!:D Nightwish were great and magical:3 However, the wait between Pain and Nightwish was rather long which kinda put me down just little bit:/ Anyway, Floor Jansen is a great singer and all the other guys are so cute and amazing! Unforgettable night I must say<3

Nightwish’s guest singer Floor Jansen got one hell of a cheer from the crowd as she walked on to the stage bellowing out Storytime. I’d first seen her perform with her new band ReVamp when supporting Epica at the Scala club back in March 2011. If there were a few in the crowd that doubted Nightwish’s guest singer – or had not seen her live before – they must have been quickly reassured.
Nightwish moved through a number of energetic songs from a number of different albums: Storytime, Dark Chest of Wonders, I Wish I had an Angel (in which Marco Hietala introduced Floor as their Saviour Angel), and Amaranth before slowing things down a little for Slow Love Slow.
The I Want My Tears Back with its Irish Dance influences proved popular – and then another “quiet” set of The Islander and Nemo.
If I had one niggle about the evening it would be the etiquette of some of the crowd near us. A group of a half dozen or so that I hope were drunk because maybe that would have numbed some of the pain they must have inflicted on themselves. No one minds a bit of jumping around but these guys must have mistaken the concert for a rugby match and were pushing each other violently around and into the crowd in front of them such that many normal fans were nearly knocked off their feet. They tried crowd surfing a couple of times but abandoned that after one of them got dropped by the normal fans that had been inconvenienced by their behaviour. I swear I could see a gleam in these fans eyes as they let him fall to the ground.
Last Ride of the Day seemed a fitting end to the show and the band took their bows – but then there was a piece of orchestral music that went on for a bit after the band had left the stage that left many thinking they’d be back for an encore but this didn’t materialise. I think they need to drop this and just end normally with Last Ride of the Day.

Fantastic night, Floor Jansen really settled in as the new front woman at short notice, superb vocal range and interaction with the crowd. Many goosebumps moments as the huge wall of sound that is Nightwish was replicated on the stage. Can't wait for the next tour.

Definitely one of the best nights of my life - the support band was just awesome and above my expectations. And Nightwish...they were amazing. They are even better live than on the CDs. Floor Jansen did a great job as well, respect for her and her hard work! I had lots of fun and would love to go again!

This is the first time i have seen Nightwish and they were still amazing even when It wasn't the proper singer. Floor has an amazing voice and she really gelled with the band

Most incredible night ever. Loved the band, loved the music! Floor is an amazing replacement, and as Marco said, she was the saving angel <3 I love the easy and close friendship they all have with each other, with Emmppu and Marco sometimes playing back to back and Floor air-guitaring like a stunning.....I'm out of words. Memorable night, easily one of the best <3 Loved Troy and all his awesome instruments XD

this was my first time seeing nightwish and was a bit concerned if floor jansen could do anette justice and i have to say she was pretty damn good! marco was really entertaining the atmosphere was unforgettable unfortunatley i couldn't take any pictures because i'm only 5 foot 5.

I've been waiting to see Nightwish live for years and I finally got the chance. Let me tell you, it was a long wait but it was worth it! The band were on form, a mix of old stuff and stuff from the new album. Floor Jansen was amazing, her range is phenomenal and could even handle the songs that Tarja set the bar for. I only now wish that Floor would join the band on a permanent basis!!

Whether Floor Jansen is the permanent new singer for Nightwish is unclear , but on the basis of this gig they should move heaven and earth to keep her . As an Anette Olzon fan ( I never saw Tarja ) I have to admit that Floor is a much more compelling presence , has an awesome vocal range and seems to have lifted the whole band by her arrival . The newer ' Imaginaerum ' material sounded just as powerful as older songs such as ' Wish I Had an Angel ' and the camaraderie amongst the band members was apparent during slower interludes such as ' Nemo ' . Special mention must go to uillean pipe player Troy Donockley who always brings an extra dimension to the show . The only fault would be that , despite excellent lighting , Nightwish didn't have their full show , flames and all .

This was a cracking gig, and Brixton Academy as a venue (sound / decor) really suits Nightwish's sound and music style, as it almost makes you feel like you're watching an outdoor night-time gig in an amphitheatre type venue

Floor Jansen is proving a great replacement for Anette Olzon, with her vocal range as good as Anette's, but with a greater stage presence.

The band played about 6 songs from their recent Imaginareum album, which were well received by the crowd, as were all of the older songs that were included in the set. Around halfway through the gig the band played a few songs semi-acoustically, which were delivered in a spellbinding and atmospheric way, and were really impressive.

The band seemed to be really enjoying the gig too, which is always great to see. The set lasted about 1 hr 45 mins, and nobody wanted to leave at the end of it.

Simply awesome, and let's hope they come back to the UK again soon!

Fantastic night. For all those people who did not go because they had a new singer, all I can say is you missed out big time - she was very good and fitted into the band as if she had been singing with them forever. Great night.
