Surrounded by thousands of your fellow music lovers, who are all there as you are, to delve into the experience of commiting to live music, plenty of entertainment and enjoying the buzzing atmosphere of the Rockness crowds for a few days...,

What would could be better than to spend these days, having fun with Scottish camping,
but to also be located in one of the most beautiful places a festival has to offer?

The stages are located perfectly, coming into few as you leave the camping area, the massive tents,swaying crowds and sounds to make you boogie as you walk, coax you into the arena maybe sooner than you planned. Probably best if you come with enough time to set up your tent as early as possible, as you don't wanna miss a thing!

The backdrop to the sound producing tents and stages, are a view, that makes the whole experience something that you're certain is of great worth. You know as you're standing there, maybe with friends and family as well, that this is an experience you wanna enjoy, remember and make the most of! You feel lucky.
I heavily advise a camera. Unfortunately and to my annoyance, I forgot mine.

The various tents, with a choice of music and different vibes that means whatever kinda party mood you're in, there's a place for you to go. It's exciting and fun to travel around the arena and experience everything, the music, the dance crowds, the attractions, the individual and fun clothes stalls, all the little bits and bobs like jewellary, sounvenirs... there's a shopping experience in Rockness too. So if you're a shopper, I'd take a few pennies. You could even get a spray on tattoo, try something new, get a new hairdo.... everyones a little bit looser with the festival atmosphere, (any maybe a bit sillier, as you can gather from my picture)and its good to try something a little out of the ordinary.
Its a people place, it's as if you have a town of music lovers for a couple of days, who are all there simply to have an awesome experience...
And the crowds of people are not the hassle and slight stress that can be caused by some bigger festivals where you can feel a bit like a sardine to be honest!

So I tell anyone, buy your ticket, get your camping gear sorted, take a camera and go. It's an experience that is irreducible to words. I left with some amazing memories, for myself, of amazing music, beautiful images, and awesome times with friends and also some new ones. I will definetly be going back. I believe like most things, it's what you make of it, and this place, you got all the ingredients (did i mention that selection of food was a welcome feast as well?) and more.

Rockness is always good, all you need is some half decent weather, beer and tunes, the stunning location provides everything else. However this years line up hasnt been as strong as previous ones and Sunday night headliners Prodigy werent up to much if truth be told. I along with everybody else was looking forward to a great end to this years gig but every tune sounded the same, flat. I dont think problems with the sound system helped.
Friday nights array was generally weak with lots of people content to listen and party from the campsite!
Still lots of good acts performed over the weekend but some of the so called big names failed to deliver.
Ive been to every Rockness so far so I think up till now we've been spoiled, because the first three years were fantastic.
Also the site is what makes Rockness special and it has reached capacity as far as crowd numbers go, any increase would definately spoil festival and site, infact this years was probably too big as far as attendance. If i wanted to go where ther was too many people, i would go to T in the park. Rockness has a special atmosphere, would be a shame to lose it.

Amazing weekend, lovely weather, seen dizzee, soulwax and prodigy and they were all awesome, also seen a lot of randomn people doing ranomn things that made me laugh and I'll never forget!

I took my son and his two friends to rockness just thinking that i would would be sitting around being bored ......But how wrong was i. prodigy were unbelievable , the whole event was well organized , friendly and not over crowded lick other festivals a real family event from kids right up to grans and granddads. would go back again and again .

A fantastic weekend, Dizzee Rascal and Basement Jaxx were the highlight for me, but so many other amazing acts, lots of ones I hadn't heard of and checked out! The festival arena is lovely- it really is the most beautiful festival in the world- views over Loch Ness with cool music- what more could you want??

Amazing Weekend, Even though we had some Heavy rain at times it was a Scorcher (Came back looking like a Roasted Lobster!!)
The Bands were Brilliant-my Highlights being The Prodigy & Dizzee Rascal-There was a bit of everything for everyone.
Plenty of things to do in between Bands-Various Bars, Face Painting, Clothes Stalls, Wedding Chapel, and even a Hairdressers!
Campsite atomsphere was Friendly and relaxed, had such a laugh with our 'Neighbours' and felt safe to leave our belongings in our Tents when we were down at the arena.
Even though this is a much smaller Festival than T in the Park for example, there is still loads to do and much fun to be had! This was my fourth year at Rockness and i Would defo recommend everyone to go!

For such a small festival Rockness is brilliant. I've been to Coachella in California and the toilets were better at Rockness! They should have showers though. But it was awesome :D

Not too big a festival, but still plenty of atmosphere and people!

Thought it was a good line up, with the prodigy definitely being the highlight of the weekend - they are fantastic live.

As a bonus Rockness 09 was very sunny when it was forcasted to be heavy rain.

Camping-wise it is good to have the option of a quieter campsite (and less muddy!?) rather than the party zone ;)

what an awesome weekend wish i had seen more acts though and that i hadn't felt ill after dizzee so i wouldn't have missed basement jaxx! monster energy on friday nyt was great along with soco and don't know what i was playing at not going into soulwax all weekend! better get myself sorted for next week! ooo and i loved the rain at david guetta!!

In fact it was better than fine! Rockness 2009 outlived any expectations held, the people, the place, the acts, the scenery and the weather were all better than expected. From the flaming lips and there teletubbies in the background to DIZZZEEEE RASCAL!! from the prodigy to basment jaxx, placebo, orbital, biffy clyro, erol alkan, and loads more there was something for everyone, with brilliant atmosphere in the campsites and the not home standard but still the cleanest toilets festivals could offer andthe most colourful atmosphere, one friend with us while lying on the field on sunday with music in the background and the sun beating down on us "if i could imagine heaven this is what I would be imagining" it was an immense weekend! and I for sure cant wait till rockness 2010!!

Beautiful weather, beautiful location, perfect size (please don't get too big!!) good food, alcohol, bands and freindly folks what more could you ask for. Security getting in was better this year bit heavy handed last year!

One of the best festivals scotlands got to offer.....the new T in the park! Great value for money not just affordable ticket but local food and SOCO tent offers great cocktails....didnt break the bank. Apart from the excellent location right on the loch with great views of sunset....but ofcourse you want to know what the toilets were like.......EXCELLENT! Cleaned often ment happy campers!!...and with toni and guy within the arena no more bad hair days.....great festival will be BACK!

Had a brilliant weekend at Rockness. It's the 4th year it's been running and it's the 4th time i've been there! Great mixture of music, there's something for everyone. There's also beautiful scenery of Loch Ness itself which looks awesome when the weather's nice! If you've not been before you have to go because every year has got bigger and better! Roll on 2010!!

Rockness Was My First Festival And Am So Glad It Was The Atmosphere Was Amazing And All The Bands Were Good, Everyne Was Friendly And Was There For The Same Reason, My Favorite Person That I Seen Has To Be Dizzy Rascal He Was Fantastic, Will Never Forget My First Time There And Will Be Goin Back Next Year And If Anyone Is Thinking About Goin A Say You Should Its A Great Festival And A Good Laff. :D

car park is close to the camp site, not to long to walk to pitch your tent,, chilled out crowds, not to busy, hope they dont get greedy and try to extend it, swap your warm beer for a cold carling bonus!! you can enter the areana on the friday and go for a wee bounce :) good food not that i ate much. and the view from the top of the hill looking down to the main stage is awesome, there has never been a better place for a festival. if your tired of the carnage that is t in the park, give it a go!!

This was my first visit and I will defo be back. I am normally a T in the Park festival goer but feel that it is getting too big. Rockness is like a T in the park from the old days. Chilled out and excellent atmosphere. The scenery on the journey up and at the festival was amazing. I will be going again next year with a large group of friends.
