A very enjoyable evening. His voice is amazing. However, when he was speaking I found it very hard to hear him as he doesn't always speak into the mike. A very talented man.

The first part of the Joe Longthorne Christmas Show was a great disappointment.,
It started with a second rate comedian for 25 minutes, where he advised us that Joe was in the building. - Then an INTERVAL - after only 25 mins' -
When Joe came on stage to a huge welcome from his fans he looked rather dishevelled, unshaven and his hair was in need of some attention, who is looking after Joe?
However Joe stole our hearts his voice is as good as ever and he continued to amuse with his jokes and his piano playing, he managed to entertain us all despite suffering from a cold, or as Joe said he had "Cow Flu" .
He gave wonderful double impressions of -
- Tom Jones/Shirley Bassey - Elvis/Max Bygraves -
He also played the piano in style of the late great Les Dawson.

Favourite moment: Joe's piano interlude - this was great. It allowed him to exhibit his playing prowess, impressions, humour and singing. @
Opening act(s): Ricky Lake who opened the event, was a true comedian who on a very cold and blustery night, warmed the hearts of the audience and had everyone relaxed and laughing out loud. He is a natural. @

Despite suffering from the effects of a heavy cold, Joe sang, joked and entertained the audience to a rapturous crescendo. His range of vocals was unbelievable and the various types of songs covered all tastes. Having seen and followed Joe's career over the last 40 years, he still never ceases to amaze me with his amazing talent which was very evident last night. Also, his backing group fully complemented his performance. A pity we don't hear and see more of him on TV - forget X Factor and stick with the 'JL' factor for true talent. Last night's show had it all!!
I was disappointed at the interval just 20 mins after the show opened. I've never experienced this before and prefer the normal half-way interval at other shows/events.

I've seen Joe now several times but this was as good as he's ever been. Superb voice and great evening of top entertainment. Joe's had his health problems and he looks a bit thin these days, tends to ramble a bit and shuffles about on stage at times but the energy he put into this show was incredible.
He did loads & loads of clever impressions and his singing voice is still one of the most powerful around. Perhaps he's still doing the same routines he's done for years but the fans love it and keep coming back for more. He's worth an evening of anyone's time.
It's a shame for the likes of Joe that Cabaret & Variety have died because Joe could still be a massive star. His band were also first class.

Joe Longthorne's performance at the Princess Theatre Torquay was undoubtedly brilliant and amazing. Being a bit of a fan I have already caught Joe's show a number of times around the country but living in Somerset this one was on my doorstep. Joe came on the stage to the customary rapturous standing ovation and was backed by a very professional and excellent band. He immediately launched into "September in the Rain" the perfect opening song which enables Joe to show his style and class, by the closing line of the song Joe already had the audience comfortably in his grasp. The evening progresssed with an endless very varied selection of songs, including "If", "Mary In The Morning" to "How Do you Keep the Music Playing",two very refreshing versions of Bee Gee classics"The Morning of My Life" and "I Started a Joke" and a storming version of "Wind beneath my wings" , Joe is the only male singer in my book to perform this song and give it full justice and finally "The \impossible Dream". Besides being one of the best singers around in the business today Joe is also a most amazing perfect impersonator who can transform into anyone into an instant, no props required just Joe and his unending talants, just sit and watch in amazement as Joe transforms his face completely into Tony Bennett or Barry Manilow or most his most famous "guest" DSB herself Dame Shirley Bassey, If all this is not enough Joe is also very impressive on the piano, treating all the audience to 10/15 minutes of mmusical excellence.
If you have never seen Joe Longthorne I would urge anyone to buy a ticket to see one of his shows, its a great experience.

Joe Longthorne was the highlight of my recent Turkey and Tinsel holiday in Torquay. He was both very funny and tuneful. His voice is unique and his impressions were spot on. I can fully understand why his fan club follow him around the country. I have now seen Joe three times and I think he just gets better every time if thats possible. Thanks Joe for a wonderful evening which my girlfriend Ann and I enjoyed tremendously.

Fantastic. Fantastic. Fantastic.
An outstanding performance and an unforgettable night out. We need more of Joe Longthorne at the Princess Theatre during next year, and more years to come. I highly recommend seeing this show. Definitely one of the best entertainers i've seen live and i've seen quite a few.
Joe has a brilliant voice and is a great all round entertainer incorporating vocal mimicry and a fun sense of humour.

An unforgettable evening - Joe Longthorne has so much talent , we were enthralled for the whole of the performance. We absolutely love him and would have tried to obtain seats for a subsequent show had he been doing another night at the Princess Theatre.
We will certainly travel up from Camborne the next time Joe is in Torquay.

Joe Longthorne, back to the stage after a long absence, performed as if he'd never been a way. His vocal ability is still as awesome as it ever was, despite his troubled ilnness. Although looking older than in the past, he presented the audience with a nigh on note perfect rendition of each and every song her performed. His impersonations are spot on both visually and vocally. This man is truly blessed.
His support, however was very disappointing and let the side down badly. With odd material and slow delivery, he did nothing to warm the audience. There are more talented local artists who would have done a much better job.
Dispite this, the evening was a great success, and will have done Joe's reputation a lot of good. Would love to see him back for a summer season at the Princess.

Joe Longthorne's show at the Alexandra Theatre was a wonderful evening of song, laughter and fun from Britain's best singer and variety performer. He was unfortunately about 45 minutes late, probabaly due to traffic delays on the motorway but he more than made up for it with a staggering mind blowing performance of nearly 2 hours. He did appear to be suffering from a slight cold but this is no way affected his performance or willingness to entertain us all. I thought he looked very fit and well and his appearance was immaculate in a well cut black suit with a matching black top.
We were treated to an amazing selection of songs old and new, opening with the classic "September In The Rain", "How Do You Keep The Music Playing", "Nobody Till Somebody Loves You" and "Love Is In The Air" plenty of audience particiaption on this one.
Joe had the audience well within the palm of his hand and proceeded to wow us with faultless vocal impressions of the likes of Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow,Sammy Davis,Tony Bennett, the list goes on and on not forgetting probably the most famous of them all Dame Shirley Bassey , all these performed to perfection, no props required for this man with the golden voice, just listen to his magic.
I was delighted to hear two new songs from Joe, two Bee Gees songs "I Started a Joke" and "The Morning of My LIfe" , he performed these with the customary Longthorne magic and genius and I look forward to these perhaps being included on a future CD by Joe.
He also entertained us at the piano with a number of songs and impressions showing us all another side of his immense talents. The evening ended with a loving tribute to Elvis with "In The Ghetto" and "Wonder of You" followed by "The Impossible Dream".
The audience were immediately on their feet with a rapturous lengthy standing ovation before Joe, after receiving flowers and gifts , left the stage.
It is always a pleasure to go and see Joe perform ,I have never ever been disappointed, and I always leave the venue knowing I have seen a very clever, special and talented performer, very unique and individual in his style, if you've never experienced the Longthorne magic live you don;t know what you are missing.

Joe was about 45 minutes late coming onto stage and you could see from the outset he wasn't well, but he did what he always does and played to the crowd who were most receptive to this special man.
He did all the old classics Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Elvis, Matt Munro he also did some classics of his own Wind Beneath my Wings and Mary in the Morning.
Keep it up Joe we love you.
