It was lovely...Mika used to go to Uni in Brighton and gave us little stories of his exploits...he is so lovely to look at and with those lovely long legs he still has plenty of rhythm. He was all over the stage, on top of the piano and left to right and vice versa and it was just so much fun. A mix of songs and they were all good. Altho I sat throughout the performance I was jigging from side to side and shaking my head back and forth up and down and having a marvellous singalong.
The stage setting was colourful with a book-like backdrop which constantly changed into all manor of colourful items as he sang his way through his portfollio.
Randomly there were props like a big pink blown up leg and foot on stage and a lovely sparkly silver umbrella. Mika also sported a coat of many colours and the most wonderful top hat.
The concert was a decent length and I sadly left during the last song to get my coat from the cloakroom and make my way home.
It isn't always that an artist of Mika's standing bothers with Brighton and I am so glad that he did. I would happily go again.
To have the opening act as Erik Hassle was a stroke of genius! Two for the price of one! It doesn't get much better than that!
