Firstly, i would like to say that the security wouldnt let me bring chewing gum into the venue, which i found pointless, and mildly irritating. What was further irritating though, was the fact that one set of security told us to go outside and remove any drinks from our bags, and when we did, the outside security shouted at us to go back inside, clearly showing a breakdown of communication.
ANYWAY. onto the review. It was a wicked night, minus the celtic hillbilly 8 peice that we sat through, which i didnt fully understand, however, we did have a lil country dance off to amuse ourselves. Onto 36 Crazyfists- Awesome amount of bop, everyone's immediate response to which was to pump their fists, bang their heads, and immerse themselves into the atmosphere, which soon spread like wildfire. Great singalong moments, mixed in with a heavy undertone, good performance.
Now, Devildriver!! - one of my favourite bands, and from the moment they took the stage, and the intro music played, the audience was theirs. Pummeling bass and Dez' token unrelenting stage presence, pretty much to be expected from this band. What was a little unexpected though, was that they played few songs that you wouldnt have expected from them. and they went down a treat! From start to finish, these guys had the place shaking, both physically and metaphorically. Incredible show, awesome band.
