Great sound - poor vision

The orchestra sounded fantastic, although my seat - which was supposedly one of the best in the house - did not afford a good view of the individual instruments. However, because of the overhead lighting shining down on the orchestra, the vision for the film was disappointing. I do not believe that the orchestra needed this lighting as each member had his or her own reading light to view the music. The picture was "wishy washy" and not as good as when I saw the film in my local cinema or indeed if I play it on a DVD at home.
Still an enjoyable evening, but with some better lighting could have been much better.
I was disappointed when some members of the audience got up and walked out when the credits started rolling. There was still some 10 minutes of the orchestral performance still to go at this point and some of the best music was played while the film credits were running. Very discoureous to the orchestra to walk out while the performance was not complete.

Absolutely one of the best concert I've ever seen! The orchestra was amazing, completely over my expectation. 3 hours show utterly astonishing! I was on holiday in Dublin that day but I'll be back for the third part of the trilogy.

This was a fabulous evenings entertainment. Staff at the O2 were excellent. The orchestra, soloists and choirs were superb. The Conductor was incredible. I cannot wait for "Return of the King".

I attended the Fellowship of the Ring last year at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and it was fantastic. The O2 was too large and the acoustics were unforgiving for an orchestra. To put it simply, the O2 is an inappropriate venue for a cinema screening because of its large size. There was additional lighting on the orchestra and choir which distracted from the screen and it made it difficult to see the screen during dark or night time scenes.
Having said that the orchestra and choir were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the their performance. But I was disappointed after seeing it the Bord Gais Theatre because I knew it could have been better.

Fantastic evening, the orchestra and choir were amazing. The lady who sang 'may it be' etc had a beautiful voice. Can't wait for the next!

My brother and I are great Lord of the Rings fans. I was looking for this opportunity to listen live the awesome BSO. What I would never have expected is to have the chance of watching the entire movie listening the live music. Spectacular. I´ve seen that movie quite a few times before, but never like this. Definitely, I will go back next year to watch The Two Towers.
