Where did Zero7 go?New singers are excellent but didn't like new style. Missed the lovely chilled effect, didn't like electronic pop/rap stuff, even managed to spoil some of the old classics. Shame.

One 10 minute drum solo is impressive, more is just self indulgent.
New material was unimpressive, and the band resorted to several instrumentals which seemed to defeat the purpose of having 3 vocalists.
Older songs were few and far between (fair enough in touring a new album), however versions of the older material were patchy, and the new vocalist singing Destiny mostly held out the mic to let the crowd sing it. If you are going to do a different version, actually do it rather than doing essentially a dubious cover version.
To provide context, I walked out of the 2 worse gigs I have been to.

Like many other guests that night, we got thoroughly disappointed. I noticed people leaving the concert hall in protest, and at several points I felt inclined to leave as well.
Zero 7 are clearly moving away from what made them stand out, and really most of the concert was reminiscent of a bad techno party.
Although the singers were actually really good, their attempt to reinterpret old songs seemed awfully out of place. In my opinion nothing new and exciting was added to the old songs, and I would have liked to hear versions more similar to those on the early recordings.

Showcasing a new album is bad enough but doing it minus the usual suspects makes it even harder, this wasn't the case for the mighty Z 7. From the old classics, which incidentially were given a little make over... to the new tunes, this gig was amazing from start to finish. A near 2 hour set from guys was well worth the money and then some. Big kudos to the two new vocalists too!! When are you touring again??

This was my first Zero 7 concert having fallen in love with their music when it was recommended to me by a friend. The show was excellent, both musical content and lighting, and the venue was so relaxed and informal. There was a good balance of their new album music and their old stuff, although personally I would have enjoyed a bit more of the old music too. The guest singers were also brilliant joining in with the instrumental parts as well as the singing.

What happened...?

Oh dear! What happened? Who is this awful Zero 7 cover band? I saw them last time round and it was one of the best gigs I've been to. Here, the new songs jarred with the older, soothing electronica vibes. The new songs appeared unrehearsed with at some point each band member appearing to play a different song at once. The arrangements of the older songs was a lesson in how not to do it - one song was slowed to the point where there was no discernable tune; whole sentences of insults could be flung in between words formerly sung in the same sentence.
I've never walked out of a gig before but found myself walking out here before hearing more of my favourite tunes destroyed. Looking around I saw many fellow ceiling-gazers and plenty of arms crossed. I put some Sia and Jose on the car stereo on the way home and almost managed to purge the memory...

I purchased the tickets for this concert before I realised that Sia Furler had left the band to pursue a solo career (or write albums for Xtina... what?), and wasn't quite sure what to expect.
The gig well exceeded my expectations... although I'm not a big fan of the more dance-y stuff, the rest of it was spot-on, and the two vocalists were outstanding and absolutely did the older, classic Zero 7 songs justice. Olivia Chaney, in particular, was quite mesmerizing.
I haven't had a chance to listen to their new album much yet, but will be on to that right away.... great night and they're definitely a band I'll go back and see many more times..

I last saw Zero 7 about 5 years ago at the Brixton Academy and they were brilliant, so was looking forward to seeing them again after such a long time.
However, after the first 3-4 songs I had to check that I was in the right gig. All the songs were electronic house numbers and none of the usual chillout sounds we have been used to.
I think out of all of their tracks they only covered 2 or three of their old songs. However these were reworked using their new vocalists which just didn't work. It was like watching someone doing bad Zero 7 karaoke. It was like they were trying to be like Basement Jaxx. However BJ do that alot better and its not what i came to see.
Very disappointed and won't be buying the new album

I was disappointed that they chose to play mostly new material, however it was interesting to hear their new stuff. Not my cuppa tea so I wont be purchasing their newest CD. I definitely prefer their earlier material.
What really infuriated me was the length of time it took for them to appear on stage after the support act ... almost an hour! What was the problem there?
The support act was amazing.

Ok, so I've finally seen them!
Was it worth it....? HMMM...not sure......strange atmosphere in the crowd.....no one really 'getting into it'....LOTS of people just sitting around the wall of the venue or going out for a fag!
Enjoyable concert.....but nothing amazing.

Staged in The Roundhouse, a formidable and unique venue; the gig felt very initimate with excellent accoustics. Zero 7 were at their best - a full ensemble of band members, totally mixing new and old. They sounded and looked electric.

Although this was a good gig it seemed a bit self indulgent. They may be bored of playing the same songs but you can't just turn your back on the music that established you as a band. There were only about 4 songs played that weren't on the new album - which has only been out a couple of weeks (and they didn't play Somersault which is my favourite!) Although obviously very talented, at times they lost the audience while they played nothing in particular. Although Olivia had a beautiful voice she was no substitute for Sia who is part of Zero 7's essence and was badly missed.

A lot of new cd songs! Which for a cd that has been released a few days ago it has not allowed for the fans to absorb new music. Also the sounds are different, they have shifted towards a Groove Armada (uptempo) kind of sound from the mellow, slow, deep sounds they are famous for.
Good gig, with some pretty moments, downrated for promoting the new album too much and missing out on one of my favourite tunes (you're my flame).

Very disappointing gig. I saw them a couple of years ago and was blown away. This gig had no magic and the lead singer (unfortunately not Sia - who as far as I'm concerned is an integral part of the Zero 7 sound) had no stage presence.
The main man singing was also not great to be honest.
Finally, the sound mixing was appalling, making it very difficult to hear the singers in any case.
A real shame.

What a disappointment. I was expecting versions of 'Simple things' but it was nowhere near it, the crowd was talking over the music, I don't think anyone was feeling it, a real shame. I left after an hour, maybe it got better after that.
