This was an incredible night for the Biffy fans who managed to get tickets for the gig at Brixton, and I think that it may be one of the last times that we get to see them playing a small venue again, because from this evidence they'll be playing an arena near you sometime soon. They played like maniacs, the audience joined in on every tune and it all got a little emotional at times. These guys ruled and I hope that 2010 brings them the recognition they deserve!

Monday night set me up for possible disappointment - should you try and recreate a great night? In this instance it turns out you should!
Night one, a very good show. Night two - WOW!
The crowd have to accept some of the credit for making Tuesday's show a much more intense experience than Monday's. Setlist wasn't changed too much, but the crowd really really went for it - producing a proper, sweaty, legendary Barrowlands night.

Having seen Biffy Clyro several times before I was hopeful of a good show. I had tickets to both nights at the Barrowlands, with a friend attending one night and my brother on the other. I was excited to introduce a new audience to the joy of Biffy live.
Monday was great, one of their best even if the crowd interaction was less than previous and the stripped down acoustic numbers not as good as previous, but then, they played a second barnstorming night........

Biffy's new album is alright, but it's no where near the standard I'm used to, I would say it were a decent Lostprophet's album with some cheesy lyrics. Everyone seems to think that the people who do not like Biffy's new stuff are snobby people who don't want to have their favourite band who noone knows of to become a big success, but I would be happy for Biffy to be a big band, the old Biffy deserve it, it's just this music isn't good enough and they just aren't very good songs.
I enjoyed all of the old songs they played, and even the songs from puzzle and some of the new stuff, but The Captain ruined it for me, how everyone cheered for that because its probably the reason they came in the first place, it got the biggest and longest cheer by far and everyone sang along, this would have been nice if the song they were playing was good and not some poppy disaster that reminds me of American Idiot.
Saying that, they are still good musicians and I enjoyed the gig, just a shame about their new album, they needed at least 2 songs heavier than that golden rule and they should have had the original version of the captain and not had know your quarry or boom blast and ruin on the album, as well as mountains as it's not a new song.

First time in this venue and after overcoming adverse weather conditions to get here from Glasgow our seats in the Balcony were a welcome sight. Fantastic start to the show, without much breaks inbetween the trio thundered through an amazing selection of songs old and new. We loved the sing along crowd who gave Simon and the twins a rest from time to time. Well worth the travel and excellent value for money. Can't wait for the next tour and booking my third concert to see the band...Overall a brilliant night

The set list had a good mix of old and new songs, off of all their albums. Very impressed that they Played There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake, not expecting that. The lighting show and energy of the whole band throughout were awesome! Definately recommend it for both long-term and new Biffy fans.

Top gig by the Clyro boys. They did exactly as was asked, came out, played their stuff and buggered off, relying on the music to do the talking, with limited audience interaction. Being a newcomer to Biffy, some of the gig was lost on me, but the tracks I knew were performed with ruthless elan. Also realised I am getting a little too old for 'moshing' as I am now nursing a rather painful cracked rib from one mosh too many!

Came away from this gig quite disappointed, ears bleeding. Biffy were set to stadium rock levels at the academy and the bass was up so high you couldn't hear any one else over it. The guitar and Simon neils as a result was off key for the best part. The band have a lot energy, but their usually highly meodic finesse was compromised.
To be honest The 2 acoustic songs were really the best part of the gig.
All in all, not sure I would go for an indoor Biffy gig again.

Been a fan of Biffy since early '04 so it was a completely awesome to finally see them live!
They were on top form the whole evening - totally alive and crazy on the uptempo's and beautifully moving on the chilled acoustic tracks. Was totally unforgettable!
Wasn't too keen on the fact that while waiting for BIffy to come on and once they started, I got completely smashed into the barrier by a bunch of teenage yobs behind me. I wasn't the only one and unfortunately a lot of the people who were at the front first (including a mum and daughter!!!!), had to move further back (and struggled to do so) due the sheer weight of all them pushing forward. Not cool - keep the mosh pit to the usual spot of middle-front lads...
Another down side was that I was not allowed to bring in my DSLR (even though there was nothing about camera restrictions online or when I phoned in - please update your website Brixton Academy!) under the allegations of "anything above 35mm with a detachable lense is considered professional equipment" - stick to 'point and shoot's' then.
Otherwise, totally brilliant - 3 thumbs up. ;)
