This was the 5th Nerina gig I have been to - I love the small intimate venues that she chooses & this was no exception.
Her voice is amazing & I totally love her new CD - The Graduate - ther is not one song on their that I don't love. Her lyrics come from the heart.
she is also a little comedienne - I remeber the first gig i went to in Regents park and found myself laughing out loud to her funny annecdotes, sprinkled with a bit of swearing - my kind of girl.
I always leave her gigs with a big happy smile on my face.
My daughter also loved the gig & was happy that she played her fave song - Geek Love.

Apology - I am a fan , so please expect a happy fan's review - if you want criticism go to the broadsheets.............
This gig was :
Really, really cool. Three years on, happily married and with a two piece backing band Nerina Pallot played live again, on the wings of her new and excellent album, "The Graduate". She was cool, sassy, unassuming and hilarious by turn. A fantastic musician and singer who can write a great song - she delivered on every song. The last time I had seen her was on her Fires tour at Regents Park and that was a great concert - but this was a stronger, more mature gig - with a three piece set up there's nowhere to hide and it gave the music a more raw , rockier feel especially when she moved from from keyboards to electric guitar (Gibson sg - cool guitar!). Her band were tight and provided an excellent base for her performance. Highspots of the concert , for me, were Real Late Starter, Everything's Illuminated, When Did I Become Such A Bitch?, her encore of Sophia, and Geek Love is always a joy. But a live performance is about more than just the music, it's about personality and Nerina always puts so much of herself into every show, her gigs wouldn't be the same without her conversation. This is a stage, after all. She expressed surprise that after three years out of the loop people would still come out to see her, but I think that her music is longlived, lyrically inventive and witty (not too many top 20 songs with 'propensity' used in the lyrics) and she has a great ear for melody and that breeds a loyal fan base who look forward to her return whether it's after one year or three!
A fantastic gig and , hey - cool shoes!!
Kudos to both supports who were like chalk and cheese - Todd Kuffner (You Tube competition winner) brought a great voice and excellent guitar skills to the stage. Although nervous (he hadn't gigged much) His set was entertaining and songs were tight.
Johnathan Jeremiah by comparison just slipped into a groove and had a very loose vibe going on. Very confident with strong songs.

This is the first time I have seen/heard Nerina live and it was amazing. A small intimate setting where she interacted well with the audience telling interesting stories between her songs. She looked great and sang mostly songs from her new album "The Graduate" plus some of her previous singles. Would definitely see her live again.

Great gig - been to over 150 in my time, and this was in the top 10.
Great venue, coupled with minimalist set and backing , meant her voice and songs shone out.
Switching between guitar and keyboard the voice soared or rocked as was required.
Elton John covers were inspired , and her chats between songs were funny and bridged the gap between artist and audience, and gave insight to the inspiration for the lyrics.
Played for an hour and 30 mins, with all favourites and new album , and veered between spine tingling, and foot stomping.
The voice was the best live I have ever heard, and the material translated so well live.
Evening ended with Sophia, and as the last note hung in the air, it capped a triumphant gig which had it all.

The lovely Nerina Pallot is back with The Graduate, her 3rd studio album and I reckon this small concert was to promote it. She performed some standout tracks of it, like "When Did I Become Such A Bitch", "Human", "I Don't Want To Go Out", "Coming Home", "Real Late Starter" and "Everything's Illuminated", and also her hits "Everybody's Gone To War", "Learning to Breathe" and "Sophia" (on the encore). Ms Pallot has a very sweet way of talking to the audience, and her witty jokes are priceless! At the end of the show, she gave a treat to her fans with a Elton John medley, comprised by "Your song / Benny & The Jets / Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)". Awesome night!

It was well anticipated, as we didnt see nerina till about 9.30, but it was well worth the wait.
She mainly did songs from her new album "The Graduate" and her last album "Fires" , which are the ones I know the best, so it suited me. She did do a few earlier songs and then surprisingly did a cover of "Living on a prayer" because someone had said they didnt think she would on twitter, which was really good.
Her voice was impeccible and accompanied by her guitarist and drummer, together they were sensational!
Her communictaion with the crowd was natural and lovely as there was frequent banter with the crowd.
She performed for about an hour and a half and then came out to sign cd's a t-shirts afterwards. She was lovely in person and took the time to speak to everyone, nothing was too much to ask of her.
I would definately see Nerina again because I love her music and she sounds just as good, if not better, when singing live!

4th time I have seen Nerina and she is just so brilliant and getting better and more confident every time. When she becomes a mega star, which she will, people will kick themselves that they didnt see her in these intimate venues. She played a great set, new and old stuff....and all note perfect. Shame it was a sit down event, however intimate, it took a bit of time to get a "bond" going. But such a sweetheart afterwards...one of the highlights of her gigs is her meeting up and chatting with everyone afterwards. We love you ,Nerina, you are brilliant.

Truely amazing gig...! I'm an avid live music fan and usually get to a few dozen gigs each year and I can say without question, this was definitly one of the best I've seen in recent years!! The Glee Club (Birmingham) is a fab venue!...the sound was spot on! lighting...excellent! atmosphere great! Nerina sang beautifully and with such passion...and looked stunning too! She was accompanied by her drummer and bass player...both excellent musicians. Natrually, she used the gig to showcase songs from her recently released album; The Graduate"...highlights were; "When did I become such a a BItch", "Human" and the new single; "Real later Starter"! It was also great to hear some of her back catalogue...particularly; "Sophia", "Geek Love" and "Idaho"...Fab!!!
As always with Nerina Pallot, one leaves the gig absolutely mesmerised by her sheer talent, both as a songwriter, a singer and a musician and puzzling over why she's not more widely recognised as one of the best female singer/songwriters around!!

From the moment Nerina came on stage the crowd loved her, both old and new fans. She delighted us with her songs including many news ones. Her voice is excellent and she is a natural and very funny when she spoke to the crowd. The atmosphere was great, the venue really good and the crowd sang along to all the old songs. Nerina seemed to love it too and you could see her enthusiasm. Quite a lot of people were buying he album after the gig so they must have loved her too. A really good night for all. She deservbed to be so much more successful and famous.

This was a very good performance by Nerina, but it was let down by poor acoustics in the venue. Because of the stone pillars throughout the room there were dead spots in front of the seating areas and as my friend has a bad back we had no option but to sit down.
Nerina herself was lively and friendly and engaged the audience at every opportunity, her voice was clear and engaging and she obviously enjoyed interacting with the audience. I would be reluctant to go back to this venue but I would go and see her at another venue without any hesitation.
