Having lapped up tickets for the third year running and before the lineup was known, I was subsequently overjoyed to then see The Killers and Oasis headline. Not only that but my wife came with me and on Saturday we got to see our favourite bands Elbow, SnowPatrol and Oasis all in one night. From midday on each day there were also some fantastic shows laid on by The Script, Bens Brother, The Proclaimers, Lady Gaga to name just a few. You could even go to a smaller stage and see Will Young (if you like that kind of thing - I personally have never been confused).
As far as staying over is concerned, if you want to camp like sardines you can but if you walk to the very end of the park you can find a bit of space with fantastic views of Shropshire or the festival arena below. I recommend spirits in plastic bottles over cans or you'll never make it through the mud if it is wet. The weather in 2009 was glorious throughout but 2007 and 2008 was wet, very wet, very sodding wet (but great fun if you can find a couple of lilos to have a mud bobsleigh race with).
As for facilities I'd say they are spot on apart from the lack of toilets. On a personal note I won tickets to enter the Secret Garden which contains delux tiolets but like an idiot didn't open the envelope until I got home so was left queing with the droves of cross-legged people. There did seem to be less tiolets in the far reaches of the park but then if your fit enough to drag your tent and alcohol that far you probably won't worry about a little walk to find a tiolet. There are plenty of food stalls and more importantly numerous bars where you can get larger, cider, guiness, wine or bacardi. I'd avoid the bars that require tokens - why queue twice when you can head for one of the other bars or the bacardi tent (who produce a fantastic mahioto - however you spell it)?
