Absolutely fantastic. As a child of the 80's who adored the Nutty Boys it was great to see them again. I have to admit I'm a lapsed fan who hasn't caught up with their reunions since they split in the mid 80's, in fact the last time I saw them live was in the early 80's at the City Hall.
I'd missed out on the evening tickets that sold out in a flash, but was chuffed when I found out that they were doing an afternoon show. Matinee Madness meant I could take the kids (9 & 12) and there were a few other families that had the same idea. I thought that it was my duty to show them the right way musically and try and get them away from the x-factor nonesense that currently pollutes our airways.
What a storming gig!! That is what music is all about. I have to admit to having a tear in my eye as the likes of Baggy Trousers boomed out - taking me back to happy times in my youth, and also looking at my kids thoroghly enjoying themselves. The songbook of Madness is top notch, so much so, that I picked "It Must Be Love" for one of my wedding songs recently. Every one is a winner, and some of the more recent stuff is good too. As always they look to be top blokes who enjoy putting on a show - it was great music.
Anyone that like me looks back on that period of the late 70's early 80's with fondness needs to get their ass intop gear and see them.
