An awesome display of raw talent and energy. This was so good. There was so much going on and they were so together. The bands enthusiasm and love of what they were doing was so real you could taste it

Featured Review

This event was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Jools is a great entertainer as well as being a marvellous musician. The atmosphere was buzzing and it was great to see Jools smiling all the way through and appearing to enjoy himself as well as encouraging and appreciating his fellow musicians - unlike some artists who appear "dead pan" and uncommunicative.

We go to see Jools Holland every year and 2009 at Oxford was about best ever. Might have had something to do with being in Row D in front of the speakers. Dave Edmunds rocked - Sabre Dance and opened with I hear You Knocking. Couple of years ago heard a great song on radio and wondered where I'd heard it recently - turned out to be Ruby Turner, The Informer! Will do utmost for again this year and have something to look forward to. He had Chris Difford as support act a few years ago and they did a combined set of all the best Squeeze numbers, Marc Almond doing ska version of Say Hello, Wave Goodbye, Lulu - Take These Chains and not least of all Rico doing L O V E and I've Got You Under My Skin. Can't wait.

I am still tingling from Sunday eve at Cardiff - the whole arena was rocking! This is the 4th time I have seen Jools at different events and he never fails - he and his band - and guests - all give 101%. Such energy, amazing vocals, superb musicians - what can I say! Some friends came with us who also loved the concert and another set of friends (one of who plays banjo and mandolin and in a band, so is fairly musical) had declined, saying they did not like Jools' eve show that much. I tried to persuade them saying the big band show was different BUT they will be gutted when they realise they missed Dave Edmonds and 'Sabre Dance' - fantastic. Ruby Turner looked and sounded superb and the the 2 girl singers were also great - hope I hear them again.

Great toes tapping night out - recommend to all even if you don't like the Blues but enjoy a live concert! Louise Marshall is a Ruby Turner in the making, going to be a BIG star...

Jools and the band played a few new tunes but gave some old favorites an airing. Guests included Louise Marshall, Ruby Turner and Dave Edmonds. All top class and a thoroughly good start to our Christmas holiday.

Jools was cool! The band were terrific as usual and Ruby was absolutely fantastic. What a night !! Worth seeing the show again and again.
Not sure about Dave Edmonds, but the rest of the show was amazing.

Jools Holland and his band were fantastic. The music was excellent and there was a whole range of brilliant singers performing a real variety of songs. The young singer Rosie was particularly good, I'd have liked to hear more of her. Jools' piano playing is amazing and it was great to watch close ups of his hands on the big screen. It was a great gig, marred only by the jobsworth security personnel who kept trying to stop people dancing in the aisles - please, get real, it's called people enjoying themselves and it doesn't happen enough in life. Excellent show. recommended.

Second time i`ve seen him and his wonderful Rhythm and Blues Orchestra on stage in Cardiff and they are getting better and better.It was a night when you couldn`t take your eyes off stage with one after another talented musician displaying extraordinary musical prowess e.g. the drum solo !! The crowd had to be encouraged to leave the Arena.Roll on next time.
