The Juncos were as good as ever and I have been watching them for HMMMM many years! Great band, great set and a good venue in the Bar at the Whitley Bay Playhouse. New line-up, with some up and coming local talent replacing for part of the set, the originals, so chances are we will see "The Juncos" continuing for many years, albeit in a different form. Disappointing John Woods, the original Drummer is now too ill to play these days

The Juncos were on their usual fine form but the venue could have been better. Not very good selection of beers but the worst bit was the acoustics, From more than half way back the drums were much more difficult to detect and the impact of the solos less punchy.

Not bad overall, but one to watch out for in future.

We have been to nearly all the gigs at the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle and the band and atmosphere have always been great. Loud audience appreciation and lots up dancing within a short space of time. In response the band often played on after the finish time.

Friday night although packed just did not seem be the same. We decided to get up to dance and about four other ladies followed, and that was it.

The audience response seemed polite but not gushing and at 10.45pm the Juncos decided to finish. A broken guitar string was blamed but we were not sure it was not the night it's self!

Don't know if it was the crowd on the night, but the Junco's get much better response
and support in Newcastle. Never the less we think we have seen them enough now, the play list does not to deviate much, maybe time to put the past finally behind us!!!!!!!

It had been 19 months since I'd been to see the magnificent 7 Junco Partners and a mere 11 years for my friend. The good news was that nothing much had changed. For me, still the same line-up, the same good humoured between-song banter and largely the same sets, the only additions being the Sonny Boy Williamson track "Bring It On Home" and an Elvis cover, "Mess of Blues". But this was no mess of blues, it was a masterclass of true RnB musicianship & affinity for the music. Indeed it was so appreciated that there were many grooving along on the dancefloor from early on. A Juncos gig is always a guaranteed feelgood celebration and it is patently obvious that they enjoy what they do and they strive to ensure that the audience feels the same way.
