Part 1: What an entrance, up from under the stage, and boy do these girls look good, as ever (in some silver mini-dresses). Starting with ‘The Promise’ and 2 of my other favourites from the last, awesome, album ‘Love Is The Key’ and ‘Miss You Bow Wow’ sandwiching ‘Biology’, well you don’t get much better than this. By now the whole place is dancing including little old me and Emma on the back row from our God-like vantage point in row LL.
Part 2: Without wanting to sound like some darling clothes show expert or writer for some women’s glossy, the outfits for part 2 are even better! You see, I can’t describe them (they were mostly black), just look in awe and try to dance as my girls belt out the wondrous ‘The Loving Kind’ – it is a good job people can’t hear me singing along, I hope! The catchy ‘Waiting’ – a single that never was but should have been from the ‘Chemistry’ album followed by the hit that was from this: ‘Love Machine’ and finally another single that never was, ‘Rolling Back The Rivers In Time’.
Part 3: Oh my God, how I wish I was not up in the Upper Tier and down on the floor like the last tour as the girls go out into the audience on their lift contraption and end up in the little middle stage for my favourite song of the moment, the greatest love song since, oh I don’t know, it really is ‘Untouchable’. Last year I was lapping it up as they walked to the middle stage, this year they have to go one better. By now I am close to tears (part of joy and of part of what might have been had I not dallied in buying the tickets this year) as ‘Sexy No No No’, ‘Broken Strings’ and ‘Call The Shots’ follow.
Part 4: I think this is the final part, it is all blurring with the tears of joy as the dodgy dancing and no doubt yet another stunning outfit change has sent my head spinning. But the tunes? I remember the tunes and despite my moans about my seat for that last part, I am really enjoying this vantage point for: ‘Revolution in the Head’, the trip back in time to: ‘Sound of the Underground’, ‘Fix Me Up’, ‘Womanizer’ and ending with ‘Something Kinda Ooooh’ which I was expecting for the encore – what can they be saving for that?
Quite a few tunes for the encore actually! The encore consists of a Girls Aloud Megamix Medley starting with ‘The Show’ and including bits of ‘Wake Me Up’, ‘Jump’, ‘No Good Advice’, ‘Can’t Speak French’ and finally back to ‘The Promise’ – oh how I would have loved so much more ... But greed is a bad thing and I would have exploded with joy had there been any more no doubt. I enjoyed the 3 previous times I saw Girls Aloud, each getting better, but this surpassed even my high expectations - I wish I had tickets for the other 2 concerts here now!!
