I went from Greece to London for a short vacation and also to see Ruby Turner and two other events that were take place on these days. The event of Ruby Turner was great when it began. I had to wait two hours until it was started! Great voice, great band, nice songs but a little bit rude audience. They didn’t respect the artist. They were talking each other all the time!

Ruby was on stage for just an hour, the intimate size of the Jazz cafe allows the artist and the guests to interact which makes the gig quite unique.
The band were great, really tight and Ruby's voice was awesome.
We'll be back to see Ruby again but in the meantime we'll be back to see other artists at the Jazz Cafe. It's not glam so don't dress up but it's a great atmosphere.

THE JAZZ CAFE WAS A PLACE THAT I WANTED TO VISIT FOR MANY YEARS , RUBY TURNER WAS AN ARTIST THAT I WANTED TO SEE . TO SEE HER AT THE JAZZ CAFE WAS VERY SPECIAL , SHE WAS FAULTLESS ,THE VENUE WAS GREAT , QUITE INTIMATE NOT OVER PRICED AND WELL ORGANISED.

Ruby Turner is always amazing when I see her... so nothing new there! The band was fab and brought the night together as they teamed up to produce the wow factor.... Ruby Turner I have to add does not need music to do that... Goose bumps for the last few minutes of Id rather go blind gets me every time... Thank you! x

Ruby was brilliant as she mixed up the tunes to meet everybody's taste.
A bit disappointed with the timing as it stated 7 p.m. but she did not come on stage til 9.00 p.m. so there was really need for me to have rushed from work!!

Ruby Turner was rocking at the Jazz Cafe. An amazing show, great musicians to support this legendary singer. What a voice! If you haven't seen Ruby Turner live yet, GO and see her as soon as possible, she is just brilliant.

A fantastic set. Ruby gave an unforgetable 90 minute performance. A wave of emotion flooding off the stage over the audience.

I last saw Ruby perform at the Jazz Cafe about 2 years ago. As you get older you sometimes go to see the idols of your youth (80s) in the hope of recapturing some of the magic you experienced first time around only to be disappointed. Well, Ruby does not dissappoint. She went through soul, blues and gospel songs with consumate ease baked by some terrific musicians,
Although there were many songs that had me whooping my appreciation there was one particular song where Nic's lead guitar sounded like it was singing back to Ruby's vocals - All Aboard / The Train. It left me with a feeling of sheer joy and a broad smile as I recaptured that elusive feeling of magic when everything works.
Time is not diminishing Ruby's performances and I would urge any one considering seeing a soul / blues / gospel diva to get tickets to wherever Ruby is next playing.
To cap it all a member of her entourage managed to get Ruby's signature on a copy of the album "I'M Travelling On" for me - what more could a man want.

What a voice! I love it. Hubbie and I think we need earplugs to hear the music probably as the sound system struggled to keep up with the voice. Saw her at Ronnie Scotts with Jools Holland last October and in Brighton in December 2008. Just can't get enough of that voice.
The DJ after the concert was rubbish which was a shame as I would have loved to continue in my groove.

Such a big big voice which resonated through the audience and caused hips to sway in rhythm. Ruby is either happy as she sings or really living the song. Each line is etched in her face, every syllable as important as the last especially if it is a song she wrote herself. The Jazz Cafe is such a friendly intimate venue in the heart of a Camden which has enough personality, without every venue needing to try too hard. So the Jazz Cafe's laidback hands off appeal is always just that, appealing. It seems that you are never more than about 3 metres from the bar and the act at any given point. Ruby not as good as Yolanda Brown girlfriend but you were a damn fine 2nd. Loved it and "I would rather go blind" than miss evenings like this....
