After a lack-lustre support act and with no-one on stage by 9:10 the audience was getting restless. Within 3 notes of Andy Gill coming on all was forgotten. They held the audience by the throat for an hour and a half without let up, working through the whole of Entertainment, plus several other old faves such as We Live As We Dream and To Hell With Poverty, and several tracks I take to be new material. At least I didn't recognise them.
At one point they seemed to have left the stage early, only for the silence to be broken by the opening feedback of "Love Like Anthrax"
The female vocals required by some tracks most notably "I Love a Man in a Uniform" were supplied by no lesser a personage than Eddie Reader.
By the time they finished off with "I Found That Essence Rare" half the audience were singing along every word (not just the choruses).
Possibly one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
