Beverley Knight at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester was a fantastic gig. It's great to see some amazing British talent on stage. I saw Beverley perform a few years ago at the Lowry Theatre, Salford. She was incredible then and she was incredible last night. The energy she gives from the first to the last second of her performance is outstanding. How she manages to jump around in those stilletos AND hit every single note perfectly I just don't know! She performed a selection of hits from throughout her career as well and some tracks from her new album. All the favourites were included - Greatest Day, Keep This Fire Burning, Gold, Come As You Are, Shoulda Woulda Coulda. . . the list goes on! Although Beverley can sing any style it was on the ballads especially we were able to really hear how great and powerful her vocals are. She is in complete control of her voice at all times no matter how much dancing she incorporates and yet still manages to convey strong emotion that isn't overshadowed by the technical brilliance as sometimes happens with other artists. Her technical ability complements the emotional messages in her lyrics and you certainly feel that every word is sung straight from the heart. Beverley gives her all to her audience and was fully deserving of the many long ovations she received. I will always buy tickets to see her anytime she comes to Manchester and recommend anyone who appreciates a strong soulful vocalist to see her live. It really is a great experience, even better than listening to her on record.

As Always Beverley was just amazing. This is either the sixth or seventh time I have seen her and as always in true Beverley stile it was better than the time before, I can not wait for next year!

Coulda, woulda, shoulda - did! Beverley Knight is a must see live act. Ten times better live, no lip synching here! Energy, passion, voice and body she has it all. Sixth time of seeing her and I never, never tire of seeing her perform. You get your money's worth everytime. BK rocks.

THE NIGHT STARTED OFF GREAT WITH THE WARM UP GROUP MAMAS GUN BANGING OUT THERE OWN STYLE OF MUSIC.THEN ENTER BEVERLEY KNIGHT WHO FROM FIRST SONG TO LAST NEVER STOPPED JUMPING ABOUT THE STAGE(WE NOW KNOW HOW SHES THAT FIT).THERE WAS GREAT JUMPS FROM HER NEW SONGS TO HER CLASSICS TO THE OLD SCHOOL.SHE INVOLVED THE CROWD AT EVERY AVAILABLE OCCASION AND HAD THE CROWD SINGING FOR A GOOD 5 MINUTES.A GREAT NIGHT WAS HAD BY ME AND MY WIFE AND WILL NEVER MISS ANY BEVERLEY KNIGHT CONCERT IN THE NORTH AGAIN.

Too much amplification for the backing musicians, and one of the seats having a restricted view despite being full price, detracted from what was otherwise a fine, high energy performance by one of the UK's top soul singers. Particularly impressive were the classic 'Piece of My Heart', the storming 'Black Butta' from the Music City Soul album (whish always reminds me of Tina's 'Nutbush City Limits') and the lovely song 'Bare' from her latest album 100%.

A great talent.

What can I say - she was absolutely amazing. From the minute she stepped on the stage she gave 100%. High energy songs belted out of the venue and moved seemlessly into ballads which couldn't fail to have a impact.

Her support acts were also very very good and I think Mamas Gun are a band to watch for in the future. Amazing live

This was the third time I have seen Bev and she never fails to impress. Her voice is just fab- she belts out those dance songs with such energy that you cannot help but get up on your feet and boogie on down!! When she sings the slow ones you just sit there and marvel at the control and emotion that she puts into every note-when she sang 'Bare' I was just entranced. Her personality shines through as much as her spangly dresses! She is delightful, and love that her family always come to support her- Mum was at the Warwick Uni gig also, a few years ago, and it justs makes you feel like you are one of the family!

One word to describe this experience...wow! Whilst Beverley is renowned for her live performances I am someone who has been to a wide range of R'n'B and soul concerts - I was just Beyonce's I am Tour last week. For some reason I expected Beverley to deliver a middle of the road, easy listening performance. How wrong I was!!
Not only is her voice unbelievably powerful, she has so much energy and has real rythym and credentials in the dancing stakes too. What a tigress, prowling around the stage, dressed in high fashion outifits...it was all about the leather, killer heels and sparkles! She attacked the uptempo numbers with great gusto, and the Sage crowd - bear in mind this usually a venue where the audience remains firmly in their seats - were right there, grooving along the entire time! She did just as much justice to the ballads, showing tenderness and grace.
Beverley came across as a very sincere and humble indivudual - regularly thanking the fans for their support.
I had been worried that my enjoyment would be hampered because I don't know all of Beverley's songs but that didn't matter one bit due to her amazing energy and great band. The one thing that would help launch her to superstardom is to team up with some big name producers and get a breakthrough song, as after seeing this I really feel she is underestimated and should be hitting much bigger in the charts.
The first thing I did when I left was text my friends to share how fantastic it had been. Beverley is THE BEST of UK soul and anyone would enjoy her live performance, she puts her heart and soul into it and has universal appeal.
