We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in Vicar Street where we saw the Dubliners in concert. The show was fantastic although it was clear that everyone missed Banjo Barney. John, as usual, had put together some lovely words which was quite emotional.
We were delighted to have been a part of an unforgettable evening.

As I first met the old boys in 1972 at the Irish Center in Leeds and they have been friends ever since, and the fact that John Sheehan was retiring after the last performance on the 30th of December, this was a display beyond words as John had written a poem for each of the boys who have passed away. The music was sublime as it always has been wherever I have seen them play in the UK and Europe. The set list remembered those who have gone and as on the night will be remembered forever for the followers of the band.
The band were introduced by a past band member Jim McCane who had to leave due to ill health, but made comments that held everyone present in awe of what was about to happen as the venue came alive.

Fantastic atmosphere, memorable performances and an honour to be in the audience for one of the very last performances of The Dubliners right at home in Dublin, where it all began 50 years ago.

It was always going to be a strange concert without Barney - however, they managed to make it part tribute, part concert and part nostalgia by showing films of the previous members - then playing along. The atmosphere was wonderful - and even though not a lifelong fan, I enjoyed the concert immensely. Despite it being their 2nd to last ever, the reincarnation of the remaining 4 will certainly be worth seeing, regardless of what they call themselves!

I could have sat there all night.....So sad so many of the lads have passed on but the rest done them proud....Will certainly go back and see them again...great craic!!!!

Musically weak, lost the power of the original lead singers and musicians, meandering set the tenor banjo player (could not understand a word he said or sang) singing to a video backdrop is just like a big Kareoke !! lot of drunken murphys in the audience who repeatedly interrupted the dedications and orations
Tickets not cheap, drinks prices, felt like I'd been mugged, parking £9-00...
Learned my lesson regards to concerts in Manchester...and I am a Manc !!

I bought tickets to see the Dubliners at Vicar St. in Dublin for my husband's birthday. It turned out better than I could have imagined. The venue was amazing, and the band, while getting on in years, had loads of energy and the whole evening felt magical!

the dubliners were amazing...they were funny and they were not held back by political correctness which, nowadays, is too common for singers and performers. they played great songs and their talent shone throughout the performance.
