Poor Dave, the gig was Halloween, so the ticket sales were very low (I bet he thanked his managment for not seeing the problem with that!) But he didn't cancel he went on with the show. The audience felt included not picked on and the jokes were funny. Dave has a good stage presence and a wonderful style of observational comedy. I'm glad we went and my family had a great night out.

Dave's show was a big let down.. There were a party of 8 of us and 2 went after 30 mins.
We have seen him previously and he was fab so i was expecting a lot more from him.
There were some funny moments but overall we became bored waiting for the good jokes to come.

I have seen dave Spikey on several occasions and his has never disappointed. saturdays gig was new, inventive, clever and most of all, funny. I would recommend him to everyone. Great show Dave.

I have not laughed so much for ages! Dave is unbelievably funny! Not only does he bring in everyday scenarios, he shows his intellectual side through his stories of working in the NHS. I never realised how silly people in real life can be!
Fantastic show! Would recommend any one go and see him! Laughter is certainly the best medicine!

Dave was really great he kept us all laughing all night there was no interval which was great for us the audience but for dave that was some going and it shows just how good he is to keep an audience laughing for over two hours and even came back on again when and entertain us for a futher fifteen mins he is fantastic keep it up Dave look forward to seeing you again !!!! STILL LAUGHING

Been to see Spikey at the Lowry a couple of years ago for the first time and was absolutely side splittingly funny from start to finish. Obviously wanted to go again when I saw him advertised at The Palace Theatre. Unfortunately, it was a little bit of a disappointment this time around as there was a fair bit of the same material used again so the punchline had no punch!! Good show if you've not seen him before but personally I wouldn't be rushing back, sorry Dave.

Good gig by Dave Spikey, some very funny parts but other areas where his stories were too long with only an average punchline. Definitely made us laugh a lot in his 2 hour set but maybe a slightly shorter set would have been funnier. Possibly requiring some new material as he apologised about 15 times because people may have heard or seen what he was saying before. If you need to apologise for people having seen it before surely that should give Dave his own answer!
Anyway not meaning to sound too negative, he was really funny just needed a bit more work on the set.
