What can I say. The band were great. Superb vocals, really communicating with the crowd. The venue was also brilliant and intermate.

Although I had heard that this band was a seriously good live band, nothing could have prepared me for how good they actually were. And this when the lead singer had informed us that he was suffering from flu!!! I'd like to hear them when they are all 100%. Great gig due to it being the last in Britain "for the foreseeable future" (again, according to the lead singer.).The guy sat next to me informed me that there is a rumour they are splitting up and on this performance I hope he is wrong. They were not just entertaining while performing their music but were a good laugh in between,even while being pelted with glow sticks by the audience!! The drummer performed in an AFC Bournemouth strip as it must be his home town,and even joked about them losing 4-0 to Rochdale that afternoon.And to add to the fact it was Halloween night and a large portion of the audience responded to the bands plea on their website for fancy dress to be worn,the band then came out for the encores in fancy dress themselves.Add to that the extra song played at the end due to the 'special event', and you'll understand why they stand out for me.
Great guys,playing really great music and getting into the party spirit.What more could you ask from an evenings entertainment!!

Bloc Party rocked out hard on Hallowe'en 2009 with a killer set spanning all of their albums, greatest hits and singles. The crowd was very into the gig with crowd-surfers and mosh pits galore (surprisingly)! The band surprised all with a second encore of 'She's Hearing Voices', after many had left the venue. That coupled with great light show and acoustics made an amazing night to remember!

Bloc Party were fantastic! The crowd was great with just the right amount of energy and enthusiasm without too much head bashing, elbowing and beer spilling! The only negative aspect was the sound which wasn't fantastic, you couldn't hear Kele singing all the words. It made it sound like someone performing Live on X Factor who didn't have enough breath to sing all the words as he was putting too much energy into dancing- but that didn't seem to be the case!
All in all a fantastic evening, they were spot on and performed both new and old tracks from each of their albums, making it both nostalgic yet up to date.
Can't wait to see them again!

Sometimes the BIC as a gig venue has been a bit hit & miss with sound quality & atmosphere, but perhaps all that is in the past because Bloc Party filled the venue with incredible sounds, a real party atmosphere and high energy fun...they clearly loved performing on Halloween with so many freaks in the audience. Time went pretty quick, with a great mix of old tracks in their set. We were even treated to a long encore performed in fancy dress.

It was good, Reeeeeaaaally good. BUT the sound man guy should be sacked. He failed big time. The venue could have done with being a bit more full, then it wouldn't have sounded as bad as it did.
I can't think of anything else to say except Bloc Party & Grammatics, you're awesome. Everyone else that was involved in the gig, you're not.

Bloc Party lived up to everyone's expectations, and were once again...unbelievable. Their set list was absolutely perfect and they got the balance of their biggest hits (flux, helicopter etc) and their other songs absouletly perfect. I lost about 10 pints of sweat during the night, but for me that proves how good and lively the band were. It's the second time I have seen the band, having watched them at the Reading festival and Im 100% sure I will be able to see the band again and I greatly recomend anyone who hasn't seen bloc party, does so as your really missing out on one of the best bands around at the moment.

Last night a very tired Hels travelled to Westcliff to see Bloc Party, and really was bone weary and dreading the evening ;(( however, the band came on and their smiles warmed me, then when the music started I felt energised, not long after that the room was rocking and I was toooooooooooooooo! Thank you Block Party.

Bloc Party were absoultely Fantastic last night!
Kele is a really impressive front man and I have never seen a band work the crowd like they did.
A very clever setlist that focused on all the big rock/dance numbers that had the whole place was jumping!! My friends and I were up and dancing from he start to the finish. Great Atmosphere and a real mix of fans which made it even more enjoyable.

Wish they could have played another hours worth of songs ! Unforgettable !!
