Far better than the film, at one stage I nearly ended on my daughters knee. Not for people with nervous dispositions. Excellent play.

Spine chilling brilliance! An excellent and intimate performance with creative storytelling and touches of humour. Thoroughly enjoyed it, I applause the actors..fabulous!!!

The Fortune Theatre is the perfect setting for The Woman In Black a small and intimate venue with lots of history. At the end of the first act I felt lulled into a false sense of security by thinking this isn't to bad I can handle this! Boy was I wrong by the end of the second act we were running back to the hotel! Truly enjoyable evening albeit terrifying!

Quite an amazing performance! I've never seen a play with a cast of two, but this extraordinary play kept the entire audience enthralled - and slightly on edge - for the duration!

We were really looking forward to seeing this play during our visit to London, but were disappointed. The acting was superb by the two main actors, but the set and overall play needs some updating. I understand this play has been running in the West End for the past 25 years and by watching it you can tell that it hasn't been updated at all. At times I felt like I was watching a high school performance; by the limited special effects and really bad sound effects. I am glad I was able to find discounted tickets for our stall seats. I would have been upset if I paid full price.

It was a shame that I had seen the film first, because the play would have been much more frightening if I had no idea what was going to happen. However, it was still a very good play with a lot of tension.

I had the pleasure of seeing this play, whilst there was limited seats left!
Thoroughly enjoyed the evenings show, along with the light hearted humor, the theatrical facade, both actors brought with them on stage. I would encourage those who have yet to see this, to go on down, and enjoy the production of this play!

This play requires the use of imagination as there are only 3 actors in total but they help you establish it. They build up your nerves and then play on them! Goosebumps and spine-tingling terror. It is best to go with someone who you can suddenly grab hold of when needed! A great performance. So enjoyable that this was my third time seeing this play in the last 2years and it still gave me a fright.

Not as scarey as reviewed but well acted and a clever story. The theatre is very small which gives an intimate feeling. Staff were friendly and curtious.

This was a rather strange play with a slow start but it did pick up. I had expected it to be really scarey but it was in fact was not that frightening. There was a row of girls behind us who screamed at the slightest opportunity.AtI one point one of them was hyperventilating!! I would have enjoyed it more if I could have decided what was scarey not have constant screaming. I think they should cut the first half a bit.

IF YOU LIKE BEING SCARED DON'T BOTHER TO GO AND SEE THIS.
EVEN MY 8 YEAR OLD SON DID NOT FIND IT SCARY!
iT WAS A BIT BORING ONLY HAVING 2 ACTORS FOR THE WHOLE PERFORMANCE.
WONT BE RECOMMENDING IT TO ANYONE!
OH YEAH THE TOILETS ARE SMALLER THAN A BROOM CUPBOARD SO GO BEFORE YOU GET THERE.

When we first went in I was a little sceptical, only 2 actors & a very bare stage, but came out thinking what a great play, great acting and characterisation & how clever the staging had been. Very scary, my 16 year old daughter was curled up next to me & we both jumped auring many parts of the production.
Well worth a visit.

The theatre this play was in (The Fortune) added to the enjoyment as it is small and wherever you sit you're not far from the stage, hence the audience feels really involved with the action. Very good throughout, but part 2 is excellent! Don't think of it in terms of the recent film - this is an experience apart and well recommended for any age range of audience. Only one gripe - the refreshments in the theatre were extortionate -£2.50 for a bottle of water! Didn't enquire any further after that....
