I took my granddaughter who is nine years old, neither of us knew what to expect, the opening scene was totally amazing and it was suprise suprise after that. The costume, make up, acting was brilliant, the music, of course Elton John being my hero was truly magical. The whole show from beginning to end kept us enthralled, and although my grandaughter had seen the film and read the book many years ago, she still managed to follow the storyline. I would recommend it to all ages with the exception of the very young who will of course get impatient and restless as one did in front of us, I would say he was around three years old, however, there were quite a lot of children as it was a matinee perfomance but they were all so intrigued with the event that you didn't realise they were there.
Brilliant day, went to Covent Garden first and then back again after the show, would definetely recommend it.

We took our children aged 5 and 6 to see their first west end show and chose the lion king. It was absolutely amazing we were all on the edges of our seats the whole way through. The highlight was seeing the hugh 'elephant' lumbering down the aisle next to our seats in the stalls.

It is a rare performance that can capture the imagination of three generations in the same family. I was accompanied by my mother and my 4 and a half year old son and we were all blown away! It was truly wonderful to watch my son's face throughout the performance - his eyes were wide and his mouth was open in amazement - and he sat still through the entire show such was his awe!
The show is unlike any you will have seen before - you are quickly transformed to the African plains and can easily imagine these characters / puppets on stage are real animals.
The sets are fabulous and the costumes truly inspired.
My only sadness is that it is all over and I would love to be transported back in time to the beginning of the show just so that I could see it all over again. I would recommend this to anyone - of all ages - and even those who hate musicals as this is unlike anything. I haven't been as impressed by anything since a performance of cirque de soleil a year ago.

This is a fantastic show for all the family. From the entrance of the animals to the closing chorus of The Circle of Life you are transported to the African home of the Lion King. You easily forget the animals have human characters until they sing in superb voices. Full of the range of emotions Love, Joy, Sadness and unexpected Comedy, it's all there. For a treat for the kids they'll never forget., make sure you don't miss it

Me and my daughter went to watch the Lion King on a sunday matinee performance, what a brilliant show! Pure magic from the beginning to the end. The whole cast were absolutely brilliant. The singing was amazing, very uplifting. The animals big and small were so clever and entertaining. We will definately be booking this show again, can't wait! Well done to everyone involved in the show, and thankyou!

We loved every single minute of it. Scar and the hyenas were unbelievable. Mind you, so was Rafiki. Timon and Pumba were a riot. Not a bad word about it. If you have the opportunity to see it, you must go!!

With an opening that sets the excitement levels at maximum this show never fails to deliver. Our 4 and 6 year olds were transfixed. The show is loud but even this was drowned out by our 6 year olds laughter. Recommended to anyone. 5 stars all the way. Any gripes ...... yes!! .. No booster seats available so the children do have problems seeing everything. Ours resorted to sitting on the seat arms but this did cause discomfort and a degree of fidgeting.

Bright, fun and energetic with amazing costumes and set. This show is a perfect for the whole family from young to old. Fantasitc choreography and music. Both king Mufasa's majordomo, Zazu, and the baboon, Rafiki, were exceptional and were the stars of the show. A real class act.

We went to see the Lion King as part of a weekend shopping trip. A great family show full of colour and amazing sound. Great seats well worth the extra expense to sit in the stalls. Definately a highlight to the weekend and would reccommend to show to family and friends. The only negative I would say is with a fairly long first half the limited leg room starts to become a problem but otherwise a beautiful theatre in the heart of London.
