The Killers now have an incredible range of material to draw on. The new album, Battleborn, made sense seeing it performed live. The old favourites were there too. The start of the concert was strange as no big build up. The house lights were still on when the Killers came on stage and blasted straight into Mr Brightside. Not sure if this was an accident or intentional? Was great understated intro as taken completely by suprise at their arrival. The video effects were stunning, particularly Miss Atomic Bomb. Felt like being in the middle of a huge explosion.
I normally go to MEN arena. This is a much smaller, slightly more intimate venue which I would visit again.

The Killers -

I went expecting it to be amazing and it was. Completely out of this world. The Killers are the best band of our generation and will only grow in popularity and amazingness :) the show was epic and you could tell they really went back to their Vegas routes with the big lighting effects and pyrotechnics. I also met the band before the show which was pretty awesome.

I knew I liked them but I did forget just how many amazing tunes they had and how much dancing could be involved!
From start to finish it was brill especially as my two favourite albums made up most of the set list. The new tunes from Battleborn came across brilliantly and the old classics from Hot Fuss were just fab.
I finally heard Mr Brightside live and it redeemed them from a once shocking rendition in the Radio One Live Lounge and I could now die happy!
Throw in the fact that Mr Brandon Flowers looks more than a little bit buff and majorly fit, and it was the best Friday night our for me in a while!
Only drawback of the standing only gig is that I am a smurf and never see much and, as there were no real screens to back it up, the view wasn't always great but when the music is that good who really cares!

I have been to concerts in the past where it has been pretty obvious that the lead singer cannot carry a tune live on stage. However, this is definitely not the case with Brandon Flowers. The Killers sound as amazing live as they do on their albums. And what a presence they got!

To be honest I do not think I have ever been to a concert with such a long set list either. They just went on and on forever. Amazing!

I have seen these dudes 5 times Hyde Park (Hard Rock Calling) x 2 2009& 2011 Manchester MEN, LG arena Birmingham and if it counts Brandon Flowers when he was doing his Flamingo album ... at the 02 academy Liverpool! Cant think of the right word to describe because its a toughie ..lol I'm a Victim ... you should be a victim too ... They never let a crowd down .. K

Amazing, and such a completely different experience to hear them live. Brandon almost sounds like a different person but in a good way, more raw and unadulterated somehow. Fantastic, can't wait to see them again!

If you plan a concert here in winter, it is 20 degrees colder than anywhere else in the world as the wind whips off the river Liffy! If you are crazy enough to queue all day (as I did) then hypothermia is a known and accepted risk. I can advise that a brief tram ride to Pennys (Primark) can secure you a king size duvet for 17 euro, which may well save your life!
I am not scarred by the cold though, security were great, and recognized that us stalwarts (crazy people) had gone the extra mile so they did let us in first, which doesnt happen in many places I can tell you....
As for The Killers, I don't need to tell you that they were amazing, or else you would have stopped reading by now :)

Good concert, good music. Access to the venue good, but exit was severely marred by a key exit road being blocked / closed by merchandise touts,!

was a to high up, and sound was not that good
the support group were not announced, so had no idea who they were :(

also got a parking ticket as we were 15 mins late back, payed £7.50 max parking ticket and got ticket on car :( not happy

I've loved The Killers for years but never managed to get tickets to see them live before. I was not disappointed. They were superb from the moment they walked on stage and sang Mr Brightside. They followed this with all their best known songs plus a few new ones from their latest album - Battleborn. I loved them all and we were even treated to a guest appearance from New Order's front man who joined Brandon on stage to sing New Order's song Crystal. I am now looking forward to seeing them again at Wembley in June!
My only (tiny) critisisms would be that the sound quality at the MEN arena was not great, especially for people seated at the sides and it got even worse following the encore and the New Order song. Also a couple of big screens showing the band on stage would have been good for people who were a long way from the stage.

This was my third time seeing them and once again they were just incredibly AMAZING!!!!
Brandon Flowers is just a beast on stage and they are fantastic performers. Definitely will see them again and again!!!!

A MAZ ING , , , , Brandon promised he would make it up to us when he cancelled in November and he did It in style. What a show!!! No lasting vocal chord damage from that virus, he belted it out! Absolutely brilliant.
