Not Godspell at all !! a real con dont go !!! This was just a couple of singers walking around the stage singing songs FROM Godspell. I could have seen the same at the local Legion and saved myself 103 quid. If they had anything about them they would refund everyone.

I have enjoyed godspell the show on many occassions over the years. I was very much looking forward to the 40th Anniversary but what a dissapointment.
Cheesy perfomance, ok (but certainly not great) vocals...it was a very mediocre concert and not a worthy commeneration of such an iconic show.

All in all I would say give this a miss and see the show is in a different class

Godspell concert was brilliant, just a pity there was only one and half hours of actual singing. The cast obviously enjoyed the performance as much as the audience.

Having fond memories of seeing Godspell on both the stage and on film, and hoping to
experience them again, well what a let down!!!!
It was more a 3rd rate tribute show, where you could not hear the singing for the band being louder than the singers!!!
So many people around us left at the interval and never came back to their seats. We felt as we were there, it might get better in the second half - but no, the band(definitely not an
orchestra!!!!) were even louder!!!! Could not wait to leave - even the seating manager said she had had so many of the same complaints that night.

I feel we should have asked for our money back, as it was not the show that was advertised!!!!!!

The publicity was very misleading! We were under the impression we were going to see Godspell, not a bunch of people standing around singing the songs from it! Would never have spent that amount of money on it if we had realised, especially since the show was only an hour long. Would have been much happier sitting at home listening to the cd!

Kerry Ellis was the 'star' of the show, but her voice was much too powerful for some of the songs and hence spoilt them.

Overall incredibly disappointed and disgusted to have wasted so much time and money travelling a round trip of 180 miles especially to see it, on top of the excessively priced tickets and nearly £10 for parking. Will be very wary of ever doing the same again.

Sorry, but this show did not live up to expectations. When booking tickets months ago, I do not recall it being advertised as a "40th anniversary concert", if it was then that is my mistake. I went expecting to see the "show" of Godspell, instead we got a bunch of singers dressed in evening suits and cocktail dresses just singing the songs from the show. It didn't make any sense, the story didn't come through. Kerry Ellis has an amazing voice and I adored her in Wicked, but this just didn't work for me. She made 4 appearances throughout the whole show, each time adorning a new costume, revelling in the rapturous applause from what was quite obviously coming from members of her fan club.
I was really surprised at the time of booking that this show was only on for 1 night, now I know why. I have seen better productions of Godspell from amateur dramatics and school performances.

Thoroughly enjoyed concert. Jesus (Jonathon Williams) on par with the star, Kerry Ellis. If you like the musical (I do), then you'd enjoy the concert.

Have watched the progress of Daniel Boys and he seems to go from strength to strength. He was very good in the concert performance of Sweeney Todd and was equally successful in Godspell. The singing throughout was consistently of a high standard and well supported by the band. Kerry Ellis was in good voice but disappointingly played a lesseer part than one would have expected from someone who was billed as top of the bill.

First of all, we made the mistake - our mistake - that it was the Godspell Production. When we realise it was a concert we were so disappointed. As far as the concern goes, very "cost-saving" and under produced. The singing was generally good - great from Kerry and another male singer - some singing very poor indeed. Didn't like it, wouldn't recommend it. Next time we will study the poster! We came with two groups. The opinion was the same - we didn't like it, our night out was very disappointing.
