Kanye (as ever) didn't fail to wow the audience both visually and through an interesting selection of past and preset songs. Mr West got the audience hyped up with huge hits such as Mercy...Don't like...and Touch the sky; the rapper also managed to inspire a feeling of awe among the crowd with his chilling performance of the synth-laced Runaway.
Fans who were expecting something similar to Watch the throne may be disappointed...this is natural! The WTT tour last summer was a huge arena tour which had everything Mr West provided on a much grander scale! Don't let that great experience take away anything from this more personal experience with Kanye.
My one and only major criticism of this visually stunning experience, was how it came to an end....Kanye came out and performed American Boy as his last song - which is one of my favourite Estelle songs! - but unfortunately not one of my favourite Kanye moments. My friend and a few others around me expected a performance of through the wire...or at least a good bye at the end of the show...both were absent.
Still! Never the less Mr West keeps us on our toes with some simple but effective back drops and a very interesting choice of stage outfits; but who doesn't want to wear a straight jacket and a bird on their face when they're feeling down?
