The show was excellent. It was lively, energetic, colourful and the music was first class - a great orchestra..

Tamsin Outhwaite was the star of the show and the energy she displayed was unbelievable - she was on stage nearly all of the time. One would never think that the show was coming to the end of its run - it was so fresh.

A great night out at the theatre - eat your heart out, Shirley McClaine!

I was not expecting too much of Sweet Charity despite so many fab reviews as not a huge fan of the lead. Howver she was abosultely fantastic in a realy challenging role (singing, dancing,comedy even accent). Lots of laughs, heartfelt songs and fantastic production numbers - what more could you want for an evening out. The supporting cast were all good but this really is a show that is made or broken by the lead and I find it hard to believe Ms Outhwaite will ever do anything finer.
Although much better than the Shirley Mclaine film I did think stupid charity would have been more descriptive of the main character but perhaps I live in a more cynical world than when this was written and I really enjoyed the comedy 60s dancing - so serious. Rythm of life is a great production number even if it did feel a little unneccessary to the story but I guess they had a great song and were determined to use it. if I had seen this earlier in the run I would be going again.

A real high-octane experience, played with enthusiasm and enjoyment that communicated to the audience. One felt that there were twice the number on stage.

So sweet that I sat with a smile on my face throughout. The two leads were amazing and my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by Tamrin, in particular. She sang and danced well and her comedic timing was spot on. She also looked incredible. The show, as a whole, was full of energy and I came out of the theatre humming ''Rhythm of Life' as I fought my way through the crowds on Haymarket. Well done, all concerned.

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon! The cast were such fun and so talented. I don't usually like "celebrities" in shows as they are not usually as good as the hardworking theatre professionals, however, Tamsin Outhwaite was an absolute delight in the title role! A wonderful show!

Sweet Charity was an unbelievable show. Everything that I was expecting and more. The dancing was phenomenal. The thing I love most about it is that it's not a "new-age" show that is dominated by spellbinding sets and costumes - the entertainment is all based around the performers vocals & choreography. Very good production - definitely recommended.

I am so pleased that Ticketmaster has given me this opportunity to review Sweet Charity. Having booked two tickets for my wife and myself quite some time in advance, the trip to London from our home in Dorset was to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. However, the cracks began to appear when we were informed that FOUR of the roles, including that of Ms Outhwaite, were to be played by understudies. As the 'curtain up' bell rang the empty seats around us began to tell a story - they stayed empty! Whilst I would never name names, we found certain members of the cast to be vastly overacting, torridly and unnecessarily loud with their vocals in dialog and song, and some of the scenes to be far too long and tedious, in sets that looked as if they were from an amateur production. In 31 years of going to all the major shows in the west end, we have never left a theatre early, but when the interval came, we gathered our belongings and left feeling cheated and disappointed. I honestly feel that the producers and director of the show could have made a far better job of what could and should have been a magnificent show.

Despite Tamzin Outwaite being on holiday the show was outstanding. The lead was believably sweet and hopeful, showing a real vulnerablitity, whilst the singing and dancing entertained for the whole show. I was enjoying myself so much I barely noticed the interval coming, and the second half flew by. Some classic songs and cast performed their roles with great purpose. Highly recommended.

We booked based on Tamzin Outhwaites availability in the show but on the night she was "indisposed" whatever that means. So beware if you book based on the star being in the show and you have checked the dates to ensure she is - she may not appear on the night. I dont think this is fair. The show is good but I couldnt get over my disappointment to truly enjoy it.

A slick, energetic show with a great cast. All thoroughly enjoyable and liked as much by the 48 year old as by her 15 year old daughter! Shirley Maclaine was my heroine, so anyone taking the part of Charity would have a hard task on their hands, but I thought Tamzin Outhwaite did really well. She's not the dancer either Maclaine or Juliet Prowse were, but she acted and sang with an amazing energy. Parental guidance is needeed in so much that the actual content may go over the heads of younger ones.

What an amazing show! I had been given mixed reviews beforehand so myself and my 3 daughters went along with open minds but it blew us away. The cast were impressive, as was the direction and choreography. However it was Tamsin Outhwaite who stole the show, she was fabulous as Charity Hope Valentine and was most definately the glue that held it all together. A really memorable day and such fun!

I took my daughters to this not really knowing the story but obviously being familiar with some of the songs. Tamzin Outhwaite in the lead made a very good job of the dance hall hostess looking for love. We saw Mark Umber's understudy Jez Unwin but he was also very good in the 3 roles the male lead has. But for me it was the songs..Rhythm of life was a very colourful scene, Big Spender had just the right amount of comedy. There's gotta be something better than this? Possibly but maybe not much better if you're a Fosse fan!

We were very disapointed that Tamsin wasn't in the production on our visit . But as it turned out it was absolutely fantastic! The singing and choreography were really breathtaking. We looked through the program and it was evident why. All the main characters were from strong musical backgrounds and it really shone through. Tamsin's stand in was strong and it's hard now to imagine Tamsin in the role. A great show - highly recommended!

Very disappointing that the West End Stars are still pulling the "Illness" card for Wednesday Matinee performances. They should realise that us less well off non - Londoners save up for treats like this and trips to the capital are few and far between so their selfishness leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth. So hard then to give a full review as the main star was sadly absent. I found the big numbers a little lacking. The singing was good and the performers were good, but the choreography and the sets were very ordinary and left the whole thing feeling as if it was lacking something. Having seen the film version many times (I know you shouldn't compare) I was expecting something visually stunning and colourful for the Rhythm of Life number but I was sadly very disappointed. Definitely looked like a credit crunch production to me which in itself is exactly the opposite of what an audiance wants to see in times like these. I for one want to see Fablulous and wonderful and leave the theatre on a high, not the ordinary and lacklustre that we got.
