The Bootleg Beatles - really authentic!

Favourite moment: The surreal moment - Paul and John were bantering. Paul said something about Yoko and John responded with something about Heather Mills! @

Having seen the originals over 40 years ago, what struck me first was that we could actually hear and enjoy what they were singing! The sound was terrific and really authentic and excellently re-created on stage, as were the accents and body language etc. You could actually believe that your mind was playing tricks and you were watching the real thing and then, realising of course, that that was impossible, actually appreciating the band and their talents in their own right - and it actually did not detract from the illusion or point of the performance. It was a really FAB evening, full of nostalgia. I loved the way they worked through each of The Beatles' phases and the news-reel accompanying each one. Thinking about it - they have had more practice at being The Beatles over the past 30 years than the band did themsleves - it would appear that time has worked its magic and has developed a very entertaining, class act! They can never replace the real thing which was obviously much more multi-faceted in terms of writing and recording as well etc, but they are a worthy representation. I thoroughly enjoyed the night and would definitely go again to see them.

We now know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.
The Bootleg Beatles are an astonishing act in pretty much every way. As everyone knows, The Beatles are regarded to be the greatest band ever, however whilst many of their contemporaries went on to perform to audiences into the 21st Century, sadly the Beatles stopped performing live by 1966 (with the exception of their Savile Row rooftop gig). So for many fans, seeing them play live was never realised... until now.
The Bootleg Beatles are the closest thing to the real Beatles that you will find. Supported by a string quintet and brass section the BBs were able to perform much of later material with realism and absolute authenticity. Not only do the BBs look like the Beatles, they sound like them. Their harmonies are perfect, their musicianship is excellent and they are also highly entertaining with wry scouse humour. The event was an absolute delight and the closest you're ever likely to get to seeing the greatest band on earth perform live.

3rd time Ive seen the show and it never dissapoints. Only negative point would be the venue rather then the performance. Nor that there is anything wrong with the Empire but If you live in the North East I would recommend Newcastle City Hall purely for the atmosphere and crowd.

This show was great - brought back lots of happy memories from the 60's. I would have liked a few more songs from their early years though - not overly keen on the Sgt Pepper era. The band must have practiced for hours and hours to get that sound just right and their mannerisms were spot on ! Thoroughly enoyable and would definately go again given the chance.

Apart from Ringo's dodgy accent this was just like the real thing. The mannerisms of all the band are spot on including the humour which is both up to date and often spontaneous, reacting to the audience. The music is brilliant and the choice of songs takes you through the career of the Beatles from beginning to end.The support players were amazing and some great background images and news flashes made this perfect.
I'll be back!

They must have spent hours, weeks, months researching how to get the sound just right and they all banter with each other so well, even with the orchestra that you can tell they're having as food a time as us. The costumes are brilliant and the back projection screen is also so well put together and adds a lot to the show - makes it very nostalgic for everyone. It's a great show for people who remember the Beatles the first time round, people like me who wish they'd been older when the Beatles were recording and younger people who like great music.
A must see for everyone.

Simply put The Bootleg Beatles are the best tribute band you're ever likely to see. From start to finish they never missed a note and made it not only a gig but a show and an event which nobody in attendance failed to enjoy. Mesmerising stuff. The banter between each song was also hilarious. I implore everyone to check them out.

I've seen the Bootleg Beatles three times now and they don't dissapoint. Their attention to detail is superb. Know wonder George Harrison praised them.
Neil Harrison as John is uncanny, and "Paul" was also brilliant.
The creation of the flower power period was "fab -gear".
I will definately be going again next year, as a daft Beatle fan of many years standing!
