Took my 3 year old son to this with his friend and mummy - all 4 of us had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it :-)

Yes, Scoop and Lofty were at the side but this did not detract from our enjoyment - in fact it was a clever way of involving these characters without relying heavily on robotics (which can be unreliable if moved from theatre to theatre.)

The only thing that could be improved was the audience - a liitle quiet and reserved during the singing and dancing for a kid's show, but I suppose that's the teacher in me (a few of us made up for it lol)

Such a disappointment

Show was very disappointing. Lofty and Scoop didn't come onto the stage only appeared from the side. Only Scramber came onto the stage.

Dickie Oliver and the other three actors were not dressed in Bob costumes.

Bob's voice wasn't that of Neil Morrisey.

Bob kept disappearing off the stage, this was not like the Live on Stage DVD that we had where Bob was the main character.

Bob is a builder, not a dancer.

Had I have been given the tickets I still would have been disappointed, but the fact that we drove up from Kildare, stayed overnight - well from the child's perspective we did go on a sleep over.

I was amazed at how many people walked out.

We took our 4 yr old, 2 yr old and baby to this production. We had to take the baby as we had been let down with childcare however it was not a problem with the theatre to take her in.
Overall, from the childrens point of view, this was a great show. They saw the characters they wanted to - Bob, Wendy, Scoop, Lofty, Spud and Scrambler. Plenty of audience interaction and singing. For us, this was also a good test to see if our 4 yr old could handle his first pantomime this year - no worries there.

From my point of view, the production went on a little too long for the age range that this is targeted at. There was an interval after 45 mins, 20 min break then a further 35 mins to finish. All of this could have been condensed.

The supporting actors were very good - a polished performance.

We took our 20 month old to see this as he has the DVD live show and loves it!! It is nothing like the DVD poorly put together only a few of the characters star and it was laughable how scoop and lofty were pushed through a door in the stage!! The songs were rubbish as was bobs voice not the original voice!! Theatre is not set out for toddlers had 3rd row seats but ended up sitting at the back to calm my little boy!! Won't recommend to anyone especially as it cost £50 for an hour of rubbish!!

Took my 2 1/2 year old daughter to the show, was a little unsure as venue alot smaller than arena tour she watches almost daily on DVD.
However from the first few moments knew any concerns were unfounded. An original & most enjoyable experience for children & parents.
Music & songs were fresh, easy to follow with dances children could participate in & loved watching my daughter completely engaged & entertained from beginning to end ( a rare feat for a toddler)
A very clever use of both costumed actors (Bob, Wendy & Spud) models (Lofty & Scoop) & others making the show flow seamlessly. Bravo!

Tickets pricey to take a family. Other kids running around the theatre affected our enjoyment, some control would have been nice. Show ok, kids enjoyed but not overly excited by it.

I saw Bob The Builder with my son who is almost 3. The show was very well done - I was pleased to see Lofty and Scoop there as well as Wendy, Spud (and of course Bob).

If I had to criticise at all it would be that the storyline was a little complicated. Bob was fixing up a theatre, and I think the "stage on the stage" was hard for younger audience members to grasp. Also being sat at the front, we couldn't see some of the building work Bob was doing at the back of the stage.

However the characters looked great and my son was glued to his seat for the whole show, so I would recommend it.

Took the little fella to see this, he loves Dizzy, but only Bob, Wendy, Spud and scrambler featured in the show, and the front end of Muck and Lofty. Went on a bit too long, kids were bored after the 1st hour!

I went with my two children aged 5 and 3 who enjoyed the show (although my 3 year old became restless about 3/4 of the way through but that's quite typical!) I was a bit let down by two things. Firstly the lack of characters in the show. There was Bob, Wendy, Spud and new 'human' characters but no Dizzy, Muck, Roly, Pilchard (just Scoop and Lofty). Secondly, I think the costumes and props were a little 'tired' and Scoop and Lofty were pretty static. I think I was expecting a bit more after looking at clips of Bob live on youtube. All in all it was good but not as good as the clips I'd viewed.

The main thing is the kids enjoyed it and for that reason alone I'd recommend the show:)

I took a 6 year old girl and 3 year old boy and both relly enjoyed it . They wasnt bored at all .In fact it was the longest my son has ever sat still ! Abit pricey at 50 pound for a family of 4 but it was really good and would go again .

I have to say the performance was allright my 3 year old enjoyed it although dissapointed that none of songs he knew were featured in it all new ones. also a lot of back ground noise with little ones crying etc quite hard to hear and concentrate and he did seam to loose interest at times. Have to say we have the original bob the builder live on Video and it is far better much more entertaining.

Can I also say the whole event was spoilt by the venue carry on, first we get a letter saying do nothing then we get a phone call and a letter saying we must contact a premium rate number to transfer out tickets which I did and still ended going to the box office for 10.00am on the day of the performance to collect the tickets and filling the rest of the day in in town with a 3 year old, not the best way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon.

although a change in venue, my little boy was still very excited about this event! I think it was quite a good venue as much more space, however where our new seats were allocated meant that when the show started we missed seeing some of the main characters(Lofty) so quite a few of us in those seats chose to move to a better position.
I was a little disappointed that considering this was supposed to mark the 10th anniversary of Bob there were many of the main characters missing! My little boy and his friend did enjoy but I felt that we paid wuite a lot of money for not a lot of bob!

We only got to see half the stage and paid for full price tickets.
My children thought the production was OK, but we've seen much better productions recently from Noddy and CBeebies last year.

I would recommend to anybody to see bob the builder live on stage, it was an amazing show, my little boy loved every minute of the show. would definatly go watch the show again it was worth every penny.

Bob the builder was brilliant. Great visual experience for anyone who loves life at Sunflower Valley. My 2 year old sat mesmorised and joined in with all the songs and actions. The stage was close enough to get a great view. The merchandise was great and realistically priced. Great day out for all the family!! Highly recommende.

well where shall i start parts of the scenery failed to work or fell off, went on to long didn't hold childrens attention, went on about green issues to much, children expected more of a story line about bob, wendy, and pilchard. There was no pilchard not enough interaction with the children in the audience. What a waste of time and money

Whitley Bay playhouse was a very inviting place, the staff were very helpful. The show itself was enjoyed by both myself and my 2 year old son. He really enjoyed the storyline, the characters and never got bored at any time, (which i was afraid he might). Really good, i will be recommending it in the future. Thank You!
