I was very excited when I saw this line up, I thought it would be one hell of a night and you know what...IT WAS!! xD
Skindred were amazing, it being the 4th time I've seen them and they still continue to be one of the best live bands I've seen creating a uniting atmosphere that other, bigger bands cannot even achieve.
Steel Panther continued with the comedic metal that everyone should love, telling jokes and criticising people who were leaving the arena in between songs. They are a real treat to see live and definately fitted in well on the bill keeping things up beat and fun.
Murderdolls were very anticipated after their 8 year absence and were greeted loudly, especially when Slipknot's Joey Jordison walked on stage with his guitar. The humour and inappropriateness of their music came off well with the crowd as people banged their heads savagely to Slit My Wrists and sang along to the catchiness Summertime Suicide, all in all a ferocious time of fun.
Many many people turned up for KoRn, just after releasing their new album, fans were excited about seeing their new material live. They opened up literally with a bang as pyrotechnics were blowing up and flames shooting out all during their first song, very powerful stuff. The crowd exploded when a long guitar/drum solo leaded up to the massively famous Freak On A Leash which was inspiring along with Got A Life. I thought it was a very good set that got people jumping and growling along with the band.
There was a definate electricity in the air before Ozzy's set. Everyone had found their places and were impatiently waiting for the Prince of Darkness to take over the stage. As the lights wen out the room came to life as thousands of screams were shaking the foundataions. A voice sings out of nowhere a chant of "Ole, ole ole oleee", the crowd respond "Ozzyyyyyy Ozzyyyyyyy" The screens lit up with a series of moments from films that Ozzy had modified to his amusement that got the crowd laughing and begging for the man himself to come out. Ozzy keeps up the chant until the screens go to a full moon and a picture from the Blizzard of Ozz album, then he walks out.
He says he just wants one thing from us tonight "Go fucking crazy!" The crowd willing respond and the guitars head straight into Bark At The Moon. The set was incredible, Mr Crowley was a great moment as he paused after the organs so the crowd yelled out the title. When Ozzy asked if the crowd wanted to hear any Black Sabbath I was amazed as I didn't expect any songs from that band and he started with War Pigs, one of my favourites. He then complimented Dio after his untimely death as one of the greatest vocalists of all time and dedicated Road To Nowhere to him. Hit after hit was played and the atmosphere never dulled, Ozzy had his traditional buckets of water to soak the front few rows and a huge fire engine-like hose to spray the rows further back and the photographers and bouncers in between the crowd and the stage. He looked as if he was having the time of his life up on the stage grinning and bouncing to everything he sang or waving his arms to the slower songs, he truly kept the crowd alive. Ozzy is a master showman and deserves the repuatation he has, I would definately go again and would recommend it to anyone, even (unlikely though it is) if they haven't heard of him! An amazing night!!!!
