There was an initial wait of about 40-45 mins from the end of the last warm up act to the start of the Lostprophets performing. I'm assuming a technical fault was being dealt with as guys with torches kept wandering about the stage.
They opened with their new track - Its Not The End of the World But I Can See It From Here. - A song which has grown on me but, I don’t think is their best.
This was followed by several strong classic tracks all from liberation transmission; Everyday combat, A Town called Hypocrisy, Rooftops.
They then tried some of their new material, to a "tepid" response from the audience.
After which they reverted to some of their older hits from start something. This included Last train home, To hell we ride, last summer- but no make a move!
Shinobi was in there as expected by which time the crowd was heaving and the Lostprophets could do no wrong!
They aroused the crowd with the intro from Godzilla but them came to an abrupt halt and started another track!
The lead singer breaks up the music with a bit of conversation with the audience - just to increase the anticipation. However, at times it seamed a bit too long a wait!
Something was lost in the sound quality as the guitar didn’t sound loud enough, but this may be because we were standing behind the pit under a speaker. Make no mistake this was the loudest gig I’ve been too!
Like the Foo Fighters I believe their music sounds better pre recorded, however it was an awesome evening of punching the air and drinking Red Stripe.
A strong finish with burn burn to which the crowd erupted, but no encore!
