This event was at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh. Doors open for this event was 7pm. We queued outside till about 7.30pm before going inside. Going into the venue was really quick and there were security checks on the way in. The venue is a large rectangular hall with a stage at one end. There are about 6 hatches serving drinks around the outside of the hall. There is also a smaller hall adjacent to the main hall with a bar area and an outdoor smoking area.
A Drum and Bass, Dubstep, support act called Foreign Beggars came on stage just after 8pm along with the UK Beatboxing champion, Reeps One. The support act was popular with the crowd but not really to my taste, they were still pretty good.
The Prodigy came on stage at around 9.15pm and it was about time because some of the crowd were getting restless. Needless to say the crowd went wild when they opened with Worlds on Fire. I was about 3 rows from the front and I can tell you that there was a lot of energy being dissipated there. I was really happy to see a wide range of ages in the crowd. There were lots of young people but also quite a few older people there as well. I did see one lady probably in her fifties near the front. Keith and Maxim really had good stage presence moving about the stage and the light show and sound system were amazing. Really early on, Maxim started throwing down bottles of water to people in the crowd and inevitably some of that water rained down on us all from above. Later I removed myself to the side of the room, being right in the middle of the action was taking it's toll on me, covered in sweat and aching from head to toe but feeling great I began the extraction process and by the time Firestarter came on I was by the side of the hall for a different perspective I got to see that the hall was nearly full to capacity and even people who weren't right near the front were having a great time. The energy was flowing right through the crowd. It was a great night.
