A great band worth seeing, people of all ages and backgrounds would love them. Lead singer has a unique voice that's just amazing. They are a must see!!

The Optimist LP was surely one of the best under rated albums of the 2000s. To see it played live in a small venue like the rescue rooms was awesome. The sound quality was fantastic and everyone there was a fan!

I'd like to apologise on behalf of Edinburgh for any negative reviews of this concert. Hearing 'The Optimist' played live, and a few of my other favourites, was just amazing. I'll never forget this concert. Everyone around me was having a great time too and that's all that matters. If the critics weren't feeling it then I feel sorry for them. Thank you Turin Brakes.

Turin Brakes were absolutely fabulous! A real blast from the past. I can't believe it's 10 years since the Optimist came out, but it's still as good as ever! Revisiting their first album (now I'm sowing my age) may not be original, but is well worth a visit. The atmosphere was electric and everyone was singing along. Unmissable!

Outstanding as usual - they asked the crowd if it sounded just like they do on a CD and they did! The longest encore I've ever seen, and interaction with the crowd was fantastic! Can't wait to see them again!

Great to hear The Optimist in full, amazing album. Great first encore, only thing that knocked off 5th star was the bizarre second encore song choices.
Amazing band, vocally brilliant, loved it!

Taking to the stage to perform the entire Optimist lp - wow. Didn't realise how seriously these guys were going to take this until they said they couldn't cut too loose as they wanted to be as true to the album as possible. The renditions of these toons were magnificent. Lp over, they returned to the stage to perform another three quarters of an hour of sparkling songs, including Chim Chiminee!!!!!
The Glasgow crowd were as responsive as ever, and you could see that the guys on stage were grooving along, thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Yeah, Glasgow welcomes Turin Brakes, anytime you like guys.

I have to say that this is one of the greatest gigs I have been too. I have seen alot of bands ranging from Primal Scream to Coldplay and Turin Brakes out did all of them. The band as a whole were tight and very impressive to watch. We had a fantastic night and Thank you to the guys who obviously put their heart and soul into the preformance. I dont know who enjoyed it more the crowd or the band.

While not interacting a huge amount with the enthralled crowd, turin brakes have never been one to really chit chat between tracks, preferring to bat their eyelashes shyly from behind the safety of a microphone. The gig was fantastic, but the encore even better, in particular with a wholly acoustic section, where the amps and mics were put aside for a moment, to allow them to just egg-shake and tap and sing their talent from the front of the stage. Spellbinding.

My first time at The Thekla (a boat - floating venue in Bristol docks) and I got there early and got a great spot. Shame the boys are nervous about boats, but it didn't show in the performance which was great...they did a 10th Anniversary covering of the whole of 'The Optimist', which is just dandy as far as I'm concerned. While there I bought a CD of the previous night's performance at The Koko in London and I've been playing that since. Shame about the particularly loud-mouthed oaf in the Koko audience - I'd much rather have a CD of the performance I saw! TB really are a quality act as far as I'm concerned and should be bigger - but then I've long since given up trying to understand 'popular'. I thought the support act (Jersey Budd) sounded good too - first time I've come across him. I bought his CD too so further plays will tell...but I'm too busy enjoying the TB one at the mo to find out. All strength to you TB! Here's to the future, Future Boys!

What a night, Turin Brakes were fantastic played the Optimist album in its entirety plus a mix from the newer catalogue a must see for anybody who knows their music.

Loved'em so honest to the original, track after track of pure melodic tales. But tell me, why after Pain Killer are they not a bigger band. I do feel they could play bigger venues and have a greater following then they do, That said, the world's loss is our gain
