I went with my 6 yr okd grandson and we really enjoyed it, it was just right for his age

Sorry to say it was a disappointment. The girl who played James was too weak. But perhaps it was not her fault. I do not know how the director ended up hiring someone who could not even try to act and speaking lines as if she had just memorised them! There are some naturally talented young people but if they could not find one they should have considered casting a grown-up as the protagonist . The set totally lacked imagination. A pantomime I saw at my niece's pre-school was much better and it was free.

This play just didn't work. The acting and direction were terrible, the set looked like it had been pulled out of a skip a few minutes before the curtain went up and you'd honestly expect better from an amateur production in a small suburb of Basingstoke. My four year old couldn't make head or tail of it and I really wished we hadn't come.
