Superb Performance by Scottish Opera. Atmosphere was intimate and lively and orchestra was great. Faultless and energetic performace from Violetta.

Excellent singing and playing but acoustics of Alambra Dunfermline especially in rear stalls were poor, so sound was not conveyed with the drama it should have. Didn't like the updated setting of 1950's Paris. Did not like Violetta's costumes - they were awful.
Overall, this performance did not match the standards we are used to from Scottish Opera.

It was a very poor production - singing not up to even fair standard- apart from "the Fatrher" Very poor production and really disappointing

Even if I booked the evening when Anna Netrebko was supposed to be on stage and we couldn't actually see her - nor her replacement, Ermonela Jaho - but a 3rd option, Violetta was very convincing and I think that Ailyn Pérez did an outstanding perfomance. I am sure that it won't be long till we see a show where Ailyn Perez is performing and we book the show to see her!

Minimalistic sets embalmed with strong sonorous voices. I Missed not being able to see the RTE Orchestra and conductor making it feel like a record was playing in the background. The staff at the Grand Canal Theatre were particularly welcoming making it in totality a very pleasurable evening.

We had really good seats with an uninterrupted view which really helped us to enjoy the Opera. There was a full orchestra, they played and supported the singers extremely well.
The choreography was very good, lovely use of muted colours in four different scenes.
The singing was in Italian and was well received and appreciated by the audience, great interpretation by the three main singers.
All in all, a great night at the opera!!
We look forward to next season!

A most enjoyable production with some excellent singing. The staging of the production and the costumes were excellent (not as dark and drab as a lot of WNO productions).

An amazing performance. Having never seen an opera before we did not know what to expect. We enjoyed every moment and would go and see another production. The seats were quite uncomfortable so may prepare for that next time

I was blown away! Simply stunning performance by the whole cast. Violetta ( Katia Pellegrino) was superb. How on earth can one sing as she did, when lying down? Such clarity in her top register.

A fantastic performance with beautiful dark moody sets, amazing costumes and great choreography in the dance sequences. The singing was outstanding with Violetta keeping up a controlled and dazzling show of skill and emotion supported by a very strong cast. She thrilled a packed audience.

As the curtain rose on David McVicar's production of Verdi's most lyrical opera, La Traviata, the audience gasped as they read the giant lettering on the stage spelling out Violetta's life - and death. Although a visually stunning production, the evening was not entirely successful. The costumes and hair styles were quite unflattering and the singing uneven. Violetta [Myrto Papatanasiu] started shakily and it wasn't until the third act that she found her voice, Germont [Dario Solari] was competent as a singer but unengaging as a character while Alfie Boe's Alfredo looked as though he had somehow managed to by-pass the costume department. In a drab grey suit he kept running his hands through his hair and although he sang well enough he looked in urgent need of a shot of caffeine and some cuban heels.
The music was divine and the conductor outstanding and, yes, I'd go again and recommend it to a friend.

The opera, our first real attendance, was superb and meant we had an enthralling time that seemed to pass ever so quickly. The surtextual information in English helped make this a most enjoyable event.
