The musical numbers were generally good but it was sometimes difficult to understand the words. This was also true of the spoken lines of some of the actors. The Beast had an exceptionally fine singing and speaking voice. The supporting actors, especially the candleabra, clock, teapot and cup were very good. The scenery, flow between scenes, and costures were particularly well done. Altogether an enjoyable evening.

All aspects of the show were fab, even although I only knew one song! The performance, sets and costumes were excellent. This was a birthday treat for my daughter and she was over the moon with the show. Well done!

This was a fantastic performance for all ages. I took my three year old daughter and she loved every moment of it. The special effects are amazing, and would come back to see it again. Has got alot of humor for the older people, and it is also child friendly. We went to the afternoon performace, and it was just as busy. Good day out with your family.

6 of us went youngest 18! we all thought it was great special effects were very good and would indeed recommend this show to everyone (except very young children as its quite long for them)

This was just what i needed! The whole show was amazing - from costumes, set to unforgettable characters. My favourite was Gaston and my daughter loved Lumier but everyone was excellent. Really well done and stuck to what we know and loved from the disney classic movie. This is definately a must see and would appeal to anyone. Thank you !

i booked this as a family treat. We had a great time and the costumes were amazing. Very convincing Belle and loved Mrs Potts......the only thing is that a number of songs have been written for the stage only which were not as goos as the catchy sing in the Film.

We attended with our 11 year old son, he enjoyed every moment of it along with us. This is certainly worth watching even with out kids. One of the best performances I have ever seen. Edinburgh 03/10/09

I would recommend going to see Beauty and the Beast - it is a show that both adults and kids will enjoy. I found myself singing along on several occasions!

A cast lacking in enthusiasm and unwilling to put in effort to create a magical experience.
The show came across as dull, uninspired and with a lets get on with it approach as opposed to the high energy, vibrant and exciting shows out there now.

A great show, full of spectacle, and suprises! The cast were excellent, scenery, lighting, sound and sets were superb. A very entertaining afternoon - shame that this type of show tends to attract too many kids who quickly get bored.

Fantastic just about sums up Saturday nights performance of Beauty and the Beast. Everything about the production was wonderful. What fantastic voices. The best show we've seen in such a long time. All the performers looked as though they were really having the time of their life - they were all great but for me it was deffinitely Gaston who stole the show. Without a doubt 'Amazing'.

This is an amazingly good show. The only thing that spoiled it for us was that the sound system was playing up for the first 20-30 minutes in the Edinburgh Playhouse. That was a real shame, as the opening song for instance (with Belle singing in the town) was muffelled and quiet.
Once they sorted out the sound system, the show was excellent. Highly recommended for the family

Overall a great show. I personally found leading lady's voice (talking) a little annoying but her singing was strong. The other characters were good, especially Gaston with his quiff! Tha castle characters were amiable but the accents sometimes made it difficult to hear what they said. The sets and special effects were good even if the fight scene between Gaston and the Beast was a bit hammy.
