Great guitarist! Amazing sound from starting until the end. Lee and his tour member Piano, Bass Guitar and Drams are also First-class. I have had amazing time to stay with Lee's guitar world.

This was the first event I attended at Jazz Cafe. The surrounding Camden Town adds to the atmosphere of the event.
I heard the great classics from Lee Ritenour, including Etude, Night Rhythms,..., there is nothing to add, brilliant. I had wanted to see Lee Ritenour live for many years, this dream came true on that evening.
But... and this is a big BUT - the doors opened at 7PM but the concert started at almost half nine!!!! I traveled all the way from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to Camden Town only to wait 2.5 hours for the concert and see less than that, about 80-90 minutes because I had to catch the last coach home. The organizers should state the approximate start of the event on their website, not just the door time. It is very difficult to plan an attendance to an event when I don't know these details. I paid for the whole concert, I feel a bit mislead, ripped off and annoyed. This was the first concert when I had to wait for the performance more than 30 minutes - those grueling 150 minutes, this has never happened to me before.
To sum it up - a brilliant performance, but less than brilliant organizers., hence the 4 stars, the music deserves 5 stars.

Favourite moment: When he announced he was playing "Etude" - that was my request. @

Aka "Captain Fingers" showed his virtuousity on his axe; guitar, yet this electrifying evening combined sensious playing on his well known classic "Etude" and his all time hits such as "A Little Bumpin' " and "Rio Funk" bought the house down. His "PALS", his band which included Will Kennedy on drums, and Patrice Rushin showed their established musical relationship since the 80's and performed as one strong unit once again. The encore "Get Up,Stand Up" represented Ritenour's versatile playing and unique interpretation to Bob Marley's classic tune. Compared to last year, the venue, the Jazz Cafe had a certain vibe...eager anticipation prior to Ritenour's delayed appearance combined with an appreciative and receptive full house made this evening ROCK. Ritenour's albums are always well produced but watching him perform live was the best thing ever.

Having seen many gigs
in my time, I found Lee Ritenour's performance exceptional. His set lasted approximately 1 hour 45minutes. A fantastic quality and tight delivery of his work ranging from 1988 to 2006 from down right funky to modern Jazz. Including a rendition of Bob Marley’s “stand up for you rights”. Patrice Rushen was on keybords & backing and preformed “forget me not’s”. I was surprised at the intimacy and sound quality he and his handpicked star band performed at the Jazz Cafe.

Seen Lee many times over the years, been a big fan since his First Course album.
I didn't think this was his best set song wise BUT playing wise it was amazing.
The inclusion of Will Kennedy (drums) in his band complements Lee's playing enormously.
You don't really hear Lee go out on a limb very often but on Wednesday night Will pushed him there. It was GREAT. The band was really cooking!
Patrice Rushen played her socks off as did Melvin Davis.- he's such a great player
The on stage banter & Lees communication with the audience showed these guys are great friends & were really enjoying the Jazz Cafe audience
Can't wait for the next gig!

A fantastic evening spent with a couple of close friends, we also met some guys who have purchased HIFI equipment from us in the past...........I saw Lee Ritenour about 12 years ago and he just gets better......Hearing and seeing Patrice Rushen perform along side Lee just made it a perfect evening.
