I have only quite recently become aware of Alejandro after being tipped off by a friend, and love his 'Street songs of love' CD, so naturally took the opportunity to see him live. I was apprehensive when I saw his backing band were absent, but I needn't have been, as he had his guitarist David accompanying him, and that was more than sufficient. All the songs he played, whether I knew them or not, were strong, both lyrically and melodically, his vocals were really delivered, and the guitar playing phenominal. Even the chat in between tracks was interesting, educational, and occasionally amusing. The friend who accompanied me on the night had never heard one of Alejandro's songs, and yet was completely won over during the course of the evening.
