The Ash were at their very best and the guy on the mixing desk did a fantastic job. :respect: Best sound quality I've ever heard from them in the past 10 years (I don't remember much about the sound quality at The Fairfield Halls, Croydon in about 1980, lol).
Excellent mix of newer tracks from The Power Of Eternity and old classics. Worked perfectly for me.
Only drawback was the half empty venue and everyone sitting down. Part of me wished I'd gone to The Standard in Walthamstow the night before to get more of a pub atmosphere but, on the other hand, it was actually rather nice to have a comfy seat and unrestricted view from which to appreciate the quality on display. The band certainly weren't phased by the lack of audience movement (there was no shortage of applause and cheering, of course) and gave it all they've got all night.
All and all it was magic, as usual.
Only one song for an encore was a bit disappointing (even though it WAS Blowin' Free). It was clearly pre-planned as such 'coz you know it's over when the lights go up. What happened to spontaneity?

Opening act(s): Rude Tiger. I knew Wishbone Ash were gonna sound good when these boys were mixed so well. Very tight outfit with good original material. Bought their CD afterwards and very pleased I did so. Well done guys! @
