The guys just get better and better. A mind boggling combination of unbelievable musical talent, massive riffs, complex rhythms and masses of feeling.
Quite simply one of the best bands in the world - if only going by musical talent alone.
As this was not a tour for an album there was a good mixture of new and old songs that kept every fan happy.
The best gig i've ever been to.

Due to traffic we missed the first two bands so no idea whether they were good, bad or otherwise. Sat through Opeth as long as I could before I gave up. When the banter between the songs is more entertaining than the music it's time to go. Saving grace..Dream Theater. Once more they came, played fantastically and left the support trailing in their wake. The songs were great, the playing fantastic and even the four man drum 'orchestra' were superb, and not a little unique.
It was all over too soon and even though we got Count of Tuscany as the encore I couldn't help feeling that next time Dream Theater should play without support as in previous times. In summary Very sweet but a little to short. Til the next time...

I went to this gig not knowing who were supporting DT, but I was pleasantly surprised. Unexpect and Bigelf were new to me, but I thoroughly enjoyed their stuff. The only disappointment of the night were Opeth, who quite frankly bored me.
Dream Theater were my one and only reason for going to this gig, and I wasn't left disappointed. They were simply awesome. It's the first time I've ever seen them live, and I'll never forget it.

They played a very good set of the highest quality. However, because they had 2 guest bands (or was it 3?) before them, they only played for 1.40 minutes. Also, much as as I admired the drummers skills (and I think he is one of the best drummers in the business), why oh why did the band pad out the set with a 15 minute (mind boring drum solo), even if the drummers from the 2 other bands joined in!. Normally this happens when a novice band tours with only one album under their belt and need a drum solo, because they don't have enough songs to complete a decent length gig / set! The last time I saw them was their last tour in London, when they only had 1 support band and played for almost 2 hours. Come on Dream Theater, try to play some of your excellent music for 2 hours a gig next time you tour!

Dissapointed. I expected the show to be longer. There were no my favorite songs. The sound was not as good as should be. DT can do better than that.

Opeth are not my cup of tea, dream theater were not bad but also not great. they didn't do 'pull me under' and sometimes it seems like they just want to get off stage and go home.
still, there were some highlights like when they did 'take the time' and sand with the audience.

Turns out that combination of bands = perfection. It was literally the best gig i've ever been to, an amazing display of musicianship and showmanship made this an event i'll never forget.

My best mate came to this event for the first time and could believe how a group has put together a group of such gifted muscians. As a tubthumper himself Mike Portnoy is now a God.
I personnally thought the diversity of the four bands made an incredible evening.
The precision timing of changeover of each band was a pleasure to see ie. very professional.
Best night out I have had so far this year.
As well as my mate I also took my son and grandson to this gig.
How about this for a disaster. My son had a meet and greet with the DTs but never checked his E mails.

It's always amazing seeing Dream Theater live and it's even better if you see them with the other babies playing on the same tour (especially Opeth).
Two little notes: wembley arena doesn't still deliver a good sound( or soundboard issues?!) and Dream Theater only play for about 1h 20min , so my friends fans of this fantastic band that used to have setlists of 3hours.... Pity
Anyway 5 stars and two songs they played worth of every rispect: the dance of eternity, the count of toscany.
Don't miss it !!!

I'll be honest, I went with reservations, but i was greatly surprised. The band played a fantastic set and Petrucci was amazing.
I was most impressed by Jordan Rudess's wizard that copied him playing the keyboard :~)

Anyone to have attended the Progressive Nation 2009 tour would agree to this statement;
1. Dream theater is the hottest band in the world at the moment.
2 . Opeth is definitely the best death metal band.
3. What else could someone ask for an opening in concert than unexpect , hope and future for us prog guys and veterans bigelf..
We all had a wonderful night at wembley, sound was hi-fi quality , lights were up to the standard of the event and perfomers were at least excellent .
Thanks to everyone involved in this, it was a once in a lifetime experience.

What an evening... at first UNEXPECT hit the stage. The are a blend of so many different styles... but so originally whole... that attempt to write about them is impossible. Listen to them, that's how music can be played in a different way. Amazingly.
Then Big Elf, that personally didn't like much. Especially the drummer wasn't impressive at all.
Opeth did their job, played their music well. I expected more, but after UNEXPECT it wasn't easy...
Then Dream Theater hit the stage, playing a set list to die for: lie, mirror, dance of eternity, take the time... What a show!!!

Dream Theater has once again proven that they are in optimum shape, arguably the best band around. If there is only 1 criticsm to this gig, is that Dream Theater's set was not long enough! Still, it leaves you longing until the next time these virtuosos visit us...till then the records will keep us going.

With three band to open up for Dream Theater, the awaiting was far too long, but cerntainly worth it!!!
To a point I just felt I wanted everyone out of that stage and Dream Theater to start their show and finally, at 9pm there they were, taking over with all the power of a progressive band who knows what it want, what their fans want!!
Starting with 'A Nightmare to Remember' first song of their new 11th studio album 'Black Clouds and Silver Linings',Dream Theater went straight to the point: delivering a pure, vibrant, magical two hour-set music experience hard to forget and forgive!

Gig didn't get off to a good start - ticket said doors open at 6 show starts at 7:30 - got there for 7:20 and found that the show started at 6:10 and i'd already missed 2 of the bands
The next up was Opeth - which must be short tongued for hopeless - it was pure sub 6th form drivel with the arpegio's mascarading as class and virtuosity - they were very poor
But onto the main event dream theater - in order to keep things fresh for the band the have a tendency to play 3 or 4 songs every night and the rest of the set is pot luck. The musician ship was top draw - the stage show used loads of back projection and james' voice was on the best form in years - all in all i'd have liked more dream theater and less bands - the dream theater set did come in a just over 1:40 hours
