Current 93 music is not an immediate love for all, it requires involment, engagement. Only then the music pay off the effort, and it is really worth it.
Once you got it, finding yourself in complete symbiosis with it, either floating in paradise or descending in hell it is emotional bliss.
The line up here with an ensamble of 12 was astounding and it sounded absolutely divine, a carnival of colours, an alchemy of styles to create the most originally bizzare forms.
Art rock? tibetan chants? apocaliptyc folk? psychedelic metal?...
I don't know, i only know that i felt i was participating at somethig magic and unique.
This one will stay with me for long time...

I had hight hopes for the NWW show. For some reasons I didn't like their show at all. But then who I am to judge. I do love their studio records. Probably, it's just not possible to do the same live.
As to Current 93 they were much better on Saturday.

My biggest complaint would be Mr Tibet not performing 'Maldoror is Dead'. Nothing from their early 'industrial' phase at all. His latest efforts might be interesting but should not have taken almost the entire show. And for his folk works circa 'Thunder Perfect Mind' he should have at least tried to find a more professional female.
It was more a Current 03 'Post Soft Black Stars' show and I don't really care for their psychedelic works, but that's of course just me. But I do care for professionalism which was simply not there.

Current 93 did the 2nd night a great concert. The HVM Forum was a dissaster. I don't understand how they are organised, it looked like a slap stick. A lot of disturbing noise at the bar during the concerts, the staff didn't now what there function was ,.......

A very special evening with a maximalist Current 93 - 5 guitars, drums, viola, cello, oud, piano and electronics - 12 to 14 people on stage. A perfect blend of recent and older songs ("A Sadness Song", "They Return to their Earth", "A Gothic Love Song", "Lucifer Over London") by the one and only Patripassanist gnostic supergroup ("since there are no contenders", as David Tibet put it). Rameses III, These New Puritans and especially the reformed Comus as supporting acts were absolutely brilliant. Happy Birthday David Tibet, happy birthday Current 93.
