Cranes at Camden Jazz Cafe was a fantastic night.Why are they not much bigger?Then again maybe that is a blessing,because it means you get to see them up close and personal in a cool venue.Really close to the stage-it felt really intimate and relaxed,but was intense during the songs.Alison Shaw is an amazing singer and the music is so atmospheric.The combination of the two is really affecting and touches the soul.
There is no pretentiousness to Cranes on stage.No act-just people who are in love with what they are doing and who want to share it with others.
My only criticism? -They should play live more often!

They are a unique band with Alison being on a par with Elizabeth Frazer from the Cocteau Twins but at least you can understand Alison, is a shame there was no violin guess that is progress with today's technology unless it was played when I left.
It is great to find such a convenient venue am sure will visit again when another band plays that I would like to see would like to see.
