I could wax on about the greatness of the gig for hours, but to keep it simple, I and anyone else there will never see anyone more talented than tommy. pure magic that kept me smiling and bopping all the way through!!!

Beyond having amazing technique, fabulous tone and timing to sure for Tommy Emmanuel manages to communicate warm-hearted, hopeful, enlightening energy through his playing and on-stage presence. Now how many people do that?

A pleasure to watch and an inspiration to all musicians.

Setlist: Cannot remember order but all on the CDs' so get out any buy some. Al, available on line from iTunes for those who do not like going into shops @

Opening act(s): Gareth Pearson fantastic warm up and also when playing with TE. The two of them left me in awe of what can be achieved with lots of practice, and , oh yes , natural talent. Well done ; fantastic teamwork. @

Tommy on stage for 2 hours held us all in amazement. Impossible [to lesser mortals] musical delicacies flew off the frets , and all other parts of the bodywork, of that well worn Maton. Best musical evening since Ded Effnik played the Ovingdean Arena. Well done mate.

Tommy Emmanuel is the greatest guitarist I have seen in action and made me realise how much I have to learn. If you play or are remotely interested in the guitar this is something for your bucket list - seriously

Favourite moment: So many but the spot when Tommy played harmonics on the 'Gold Top' was a real high for me. @

This was the first time I have seen TM since my friend recommended him to me last year. He was the most versaltile, entertaining and competatnt guitarist/entertainer I have ever seen. Sadly Eric Clapton has just slipped down to 2nd place after 40 years!

I would definitely go to another concert preferably in an intimate venue like the HMV Forum rather than an arena where the atmosphere could never be the same.

Tommy's band were also very good musicians who could also sing brilliant harmony.

Loved everthing about the night - Thank you Tommy

Having seen Tommy do his incredible solo acoustic guitar stuff before, I wasn't sure what to expect from his band. I needn't have worried. After his usual jaw-droppingly virtuoso bluegrass style solo stuff, including the crowd pleasing Beatles medley, his band came on, first as acapella harmony singers, then as a full electric band, for a full rock-out. They even broke from Tommy's material to cover Stevie Wonder's 'Love's in need of Love'.

If you haven't witnessed Tommy Emmanuel's astonishing acoustic performances, you should go and see him. Adding a band was icing on the cake.

Wow!!!!!! Wow!!!!!! Wow!!!

I am completely blown away at how good this man is!

If you are a guitar player, enjoy virtuoso performances or just want a very pleasant experience then go and see Tommy Emanuel. He just gets better and better. I seriously put this man as the best guitar player in the world bar none. If he were up on a pedestal he would be twenty feet above the likes or Clapton,May,Lee or any other so called guitar hero. This man is just that much better.

This was my first experience of Tommy Emmanuel live...and what an extraordinary experience! His passion, energy and enthusiasm on stage is matched by all the superb members of his band. Quite simply, you must see Tommy Emmanuel on stage because there will probably never be anyone like him again - a man that can mix unparalled skill with effortless class and addictive showmanship.

Having seen Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor before, I knew the night was going to be great and wasn't disappointed. In recent years TE had been seriously ill and MT had endured personal tragedy; my friends and I mused afterwards if those experiences had perhaps injected some extra spirituality into the performances of two gifted artists who hitherto had always transmitted a degree of spirituality in their performances anyway.
Both artists were warm and funny communicators which added to an enjoyable evening although neither of them need to use stagecraft as their playing skills are all they'll ever need. Witnessing their ability is a privilege. There is not a trace of arrogance in either man yet both must realise they are considered amongst the best players on the planet. Their playing is not the circus act of some of the more celebrated rock speed merchants, theirs is a sublime mix of technical mastery, musicality, feel for rhythm and generous hearted humanity.

Tommy Emmanuel is most definitely one of the most remarkable acoustic guitar players on the planet. This is the first time I see him live, and I have to say that while I expected a lot from him, he exceeded my expectations by far. His showmanship is almost at the level of his guitar playing, which was incredible. He was happy and animated on stage, communicate with the audience as if they were old friends, and his creative energy just kept on coming one blast after the other for about two hours, which felt like no time at all. The most amazing thing I found in his playing was that some of the tunes he played, which were not written by him got a completely knew life under his fingers. He is most definitely a first class musician and a great performer. Pure fun. Good luck filling up the auditorium in Perth. I'll definitely come again, although it would be even better if he came to Aberdeen.

Setlist: Too many to remember but favourites were Ruby's Eyes, Those Who Wait, Angelina. Was willing him to play Tall Fiddler, but no luck! @

Opening act(s): Martin Taylor set the benchmark very high, and the jam at the end of Tommy's set was really good. @

Waited years for this gig and just gutted I couldn't make it to Glasgow as well. He really delivers. Sound was magnificent and Tommy's playing was note perfect. He wears his skill and musicianship with such humour and grace. Will now be slaving away over the guitar TAB I bought trying vainly to rip off even his slower numbers.

Only fly in the ointment was that more folk weren't there. Hope we don't have to wait too long before he's back and the hall is full. My first visit to the Concert Hall in Perth and I was very impressed - great facility.

Well what a fantastic night. It started with the unexpected appearance of the "Frank Vignola trio". They played a stunning half hour set full of musical skill and a little bit of humour thrown in for good measure.
After a half hour intermission Tommy Emmanuel burst onto the stage and began to play flawlessly at breakneck speed, much to my and everyone elses delight.
After about an hour Tommy brought Frank Vignola back on stage and they played a few duets of varying styles and speed.
To finish the night the other two members of Franks trio returned to the stage.
It was a real shame when after one encore the evening was over. The show had seemed to last more like an hour rather than the actual three that it was.
I would deffinitely go and see Tommy & Franks trio again, there's no doubt about that.
10/10 lads.

Tommy Emmanuel at York Grand Opera House was absolutely superb, one of the best concerts I have been to. His technical prowess on the guitar is unmatched and that, coupled with a great wit and rapport with the audience made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. He played for over two hours without a break and the support group before were also amazing, From New York they were called the Frank Vignola trio, and also joined Tommy on stage at the end for what seemed like a jam session! They all were obviously really enjoying just playing and the double bass player was probably the best I have seen. Thoroughly recommended and I am looking forward to seeing him again, soon hopefully!

the Frank Vignola Trio who opened the set were totally mindblowing with a subtle sense of humour that got the crowd rocking
Tommy was playing his best - Anyone who has ever picked up a guitar will realise the skill and talent of this man - if you have never seen him live you are missing a show to outdo anything
A jam session at the end with three guitars and bass was a treat
top entertainment .................

Got to the Theatre as the first act was on, so went for a quick drink and up he walked (Mr. Emmanuel), bold as brass, and ordered a beer and had a quick chat with my friend and I.

He even went along with me and said that we were with the band (upon my first mentioning it) to see if we could get free beer! (failed miserably but worth a go).

A SUPERB musician and performer with a great attitude.

Go and watch this man....simply awesome!
