Geroge came out and got the house on his side from the very start. He started with Nat King Cole resurrection. Some were ok, but many were excellently done, especially Nature Boy, which he has done previously. I have never been a great lover of his vocals, but many of the King covers were excellently done, and were near perfect re-creations of "the King's" repertoire, which is high praise, because Nat was one of the smoothest, most romantic crooners who ever sang a note. However, once George fell back on his own music, and concentrated more on the guitar, at which he simply excels like no other, the Royal Albert Hall rocked in a most regal fashion. Dancing, singing, clapping were the order of the evening. The whole crowd knew the songs and everybody loved every note. George Benson is one of that small group of musicians whom everyone should see, because he is simply, "that damn good."

Favourite moment: when he sang one of my favourites, "On Broadway" @
Opening act(s): A comedian called Tucker. He was an excellent warm-up act. Traditional british comic, but with a 21st century twist. Some of the ladies considered him a bit blue. I loved him. Less singing could have made it even better, especially if he had not sung at the end. @
